Woodland Wok & Grill - Hay River

We had the Sam Soup and it was a little spicy but very good. The service was courteous and friendly. They also have a buffet which we didn't try.

Right across the road from my hotel I found this little convient restaurant with a variety of meal choices. The waiter was friendly and the food was reasonably priced and quick to arrive to the table. Wished I found it a day earlier because the foid and selection was better than the hotel I stayed in.

Staff aren't friendly. Lots of uncleaned table. Food was very salty. And like another Chinese place here in Hay River, the BBQ pork tastes expired. Weird. Do not try the buffet it does not look good at all.

Several of us ordered the buffet for supper. The buffet featured roast beef, gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, green salad, coleslaw, several Chinese dishes, jello, brownies, pie, naniamo bars. I may have missed a few items. Delicious! The prices were very reasonable. Another person in our group ordered a wrap and a baked potato. They said their food was yummy. The owners are very friendly. The staff are family and give very good service. This is a restaurant which would suit families, groups, couples and solo diners.

We all had the lunch buffet. However, the number of items is limited. There are items that I would not consider oriental, such as onion rings, French fries and pizza. However, the local residents appear to enjoy these grill items.
