What Glenn Z doesn't like about Kitchen Beer:
Only dropping stars for beer freshness. Lots of beer, mainly in cans but some solid names on the list. Had all the other half cans they had so tried something new. First can was decently fresh (4 weeks) but my second can was 5 months old from Sept. while I’m not super snobby when it comes to canned dates, 5 months is bad and the beer was terrible. Charging $11 a can I would like to think they would keep them fresh at... View all feedback.
2 1/2 stars My palate is never more open than after a long walk. Everything tastes delicious and I definitely grade on a curve as I try to burn calories in previous hours. However, there are exceptions for any rule, and no more true than my experience in kitchen and beer bar. I have often passed it on the way to Norvin Green or Ringwood, and have as a stop of, especially since it was classified online in a few places as a gastropub a real weakness of me). Wanaque has unfortunately not many decent post-hike options, especially with the closing of the restaurant right at the corner of 511 and Westbrook, where you turn to cross the reservoir in Norvin Green, so expectations were somewhat tempered. I came a few Saturdays after a five- or six-hour walk in Norvin Green, ready to climb down. The parking situation is somewhat unpleasant; unless you know the area, your instinct and what we did) is to park on the CVS over the road and cross your fingers that an excessively aggressive tug driver is not on the excuse. It looks like there's a small parking around the corner on Doty Road that some of the customers come so that I would probably park when I ever came back. It's a strange mood in there. Definitely no gastropub, but Bbaren seems like a pretty decent descriptor. It is very dark in there, and the clientele spanned a huge swath of demography; I expected white middle-aged guys in plaid shirts and work boots and it could have been one or two), but the majority were surprisingly college-aged girls at the bar. We sat and served quite fast when the memory serves. Our waiter was friendly and personal, and I noticed that he was quite close to our experience and kept an eye on the table. Solid. We ordered to share the Chuck Wagon Taters $11) that were the highlight of the adventure. I would say it's very difficult to screw up Tater tablets, but regardless of that they were pretty delicious. It was a solid part for the price, and gave the rest of the meal, it was a rare case where I was glad to be filled on the app. As long as the perpetrator deaths are thoroughly boiled and the toppings are warm/properly softened or melted, you should go well. I also have a simple burger, and that was really one of the worst I had in a while. Originally it came with blows, but the waiter immediately remembered that I had just requested it and took it back to the kitchen. Points for this, but when the naked burger reappeared 20 seconds later, he had a little toppings residue and spice flavor. I would be curious about other opinions on this subject, but if the blows in question are not quite dry, I'm not crazy about brushing them off and presenting it as a simple burger. I don't want to try a pickle juice or a ketchup touch if I didn't order it. Beyond the Toppings problems, the Grat
So amazing! We ordered here during quarantine and finally got the chance to eat there. They had extensive beer and cider list. Menu was a little short but we had burgers and brisket and it was absolutely amazing! Definitely coming back as we are locals and always looking for a great place for beers and burgers. You will not get bored of the beers because the list was enormous! We also had the truffle fries which were spectacular and lots of wing choices. Waitress was polite and patient! Food came out in a timely manner. So happy we stopped here. Great job! And we will see you again!

We always enjoy the food and service in the kitchen and beacon. It has a very extensive, high quality beer menu that is constantly updated. We always had great meals. Brian, the bartender, is very knowledgeable and has a great memory of our preferences. Joe is always pleasant and engaged with customers.
Came after a long hike nearby. I ate the vibes. Good selection of beers, loved how to try what is on tap when you hesitate to choose it. The staff was nice and attentive. Come back!
