Cool place, lots of beer on tap and an easy going attitude all around. We sat at the bar and had a couple beers with the happy hour menu (tacos) and all was good. FYI their online menu is a little hard to read. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Craft Beer View all feedback.

What Glenn Z dislikes about Kitchen Beer:
The only reason I’m not giving more stars is because of the beer freshness. They offer a wide variety of beers, mostly in cans, with some great names on the menu. I tried all the half cans they had to offer to sample something different. The first can was reasonably fresh, about 4 weeks old, but the second one was from September—5 months old. While I’m not usually picky about canned dates, 5 months is just too long,... View all feedback.

Great atmosphere, good food, friendly staff, and an extensive beer menu. This is the place to be for a casual bite to eat even with the little ones!

I recently had dinner at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The average cost per person ranges from $30 to $50, but the quality of the food and service makes it worth every penny. I rated the food, service, and atmosphere a perfect 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying their Craft Beer—it’s a must!

I always enjoy dining at the kitchen and beer bar, especially on nights with live music when sitting outdoors creates a great atmosphere. It's one of the better spots in the area. The service is consistently friendly, though there may be room for improvement in training. The food is quite good, offering a slightly elevated take on standard pub fare, with a few unexpected items that keep things interesting.

We had a fantastic lunch here! The staff was incredibly friendly, and it was clear that she genuinely cares about her work. The beer selection is extensive, and they have a great deal with 50% off to-go beers. The menu is intriguing; we especially enjoyed the pear salad, which was surprisingly delicious. There are also some other interesting salad options to choose from!

This restaurant is fantastic! They have an incredible selection of beers to sample, and it's the only place I've found, aside from Alaska, that offers elk burgers on the menu. I order one every time I visit, and it’s absolutely delicious.

Cool little spot with an extensive bar menu. While we were there they had live music out back which was a nice tough. Our waitress was super cool to the kids and the food was above average!! Definitely a great casual dining spot.

Fantastic food menu, I get pickup from there all the time. The Jersey Shore fries alone are worth the trip. Had a meal in-house once with friends, and the music was wayyyy loud. I like hard rock, but not in that setting. Probably just me.

Came after a long hike nearby. I ate the vibes. Good selection of beers, loved how to try what is on tap when you hesitate to choose it. The staff was nice and attentive. Come back!

My appetite is usually at its peak after a long hike; everything tastes amazing, and I tend to be generous with my ratings as I attempt to compensate for the calories burned earlier. However, there are exceptions to this rule, and my experience at this kitchen and beer bar was one of them. I've often passed this place on my way to Norvin Green or Ringwood and decided to stop, especially since it was labeled online as a gastropub—which is a personal favorite of mine. Unfortunately, Wanaque doesn't offer many good options for a post-hike meal, especially after the closing of the restaurant at the corner of 511 and Westbrook, the turnoff for crossing the reservoir in Norvin Green, so my expectations were somewhat moderate. I visited on a Saturday after a five or six-hour hike in Norvin Green, ready for a meal. The parking situation was less than ideal; unless you're familiar with the area, your instinct (as ours was) might be to park at the CVS across the street and hope that an overly zealous tow truck driver isn't on duty. I noticed a small parking lot around the corner on Doty Road where some patrons parked, so I’d likely use that if I return. The atmosphere inside was unique—definitely not a gastropub, but “bar” is an apt description. The lighting was quite dim, and the crowd was diverse; I expected to see mostly middle-aged guys in plaid shirts and work boots (which there were a few of), but surprisingly, a large group of college-aged girls occupied the bar area. We were seated quickly, and our waiter was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit. We ordered the Chuck Wagon Taters ($11), which turned out to be the highlight of the meal. It’s hard to mess up loaded tater tots, but these were genuinely tasty. The portion was substantial for the price, and I was pleased to be full from the appetizer before the main course arrived. As long as the potatoes are well-cooked and the toppings are warm and properly melted, you can't go wrong. I also ordered a simple burger, and regrettably, it was one of the worst I’ve had in a long time. It was originally served with toppings, but the waiter quickly remembered my request to have it plain and took it back to the kitchen. I appreciated that he was attentive, but when the naked burger returned just 20 seconds later, it still had some remnants of the toppings and a hint of seasoning. I'd like to hear what others think about this, but if the toppings are not completely dry, I prefer not to have them scraped off and then served back to me. I don’t want a hint of pickle juice or ketchup if I didn’t order it. Overall, while the appetizers were enjoyable, the burger left much to be desired.

This is an excellent restaurant. The burgers are spot on, and their menu is more diverse than what you'd find at a typical bar. The dessert options are quite creative as well—I can't get enough of the cookie lava cake! Their beer selection is unmatched in the area, and I appreciate having low-ABV choices available too!

So amazing! We ordered here during quarantine and finally got the chance to eat there. They had extensive beer and cider list. Menu was a little short but we had burgers and brisket and it was absolutely amazing! Definitely coming back as we are locals and always looking for a great place for beers and burgers. You will not get bored of the beers because the list was enormous! We also had the truffle fries which were spectacular and lots of wing choices. Waitress was polite and patient! Food came out in a timely manner. So happy we stopped here. Great job! And we will see you again!

We consistently have a great experience with both the food and service at Kitchen and Beacon. Their extensive beer menu features a wide range of high-quality options that are regularly updated. Our meals have always been excellent. Brian, the bartender, is very well-informed and remembers our preferences perfectly. Joe is always friendly and actively engages with customers.

I only write reviews when I've had an exceptional experience, and this place certainly qualifies. The customer service was friendly and polite, and everything was handled quickly. As for the food, they really excelled at the burger! Everything I've tried has been very good!

The burger was cooked medium well instead of medium rare, and the Bavarian pretzel sticks were hard and felt stale.

The Kitchen Burger features roughly a pound of plain ground beef with a small amount of cheese in the middle. The boneless wings were dry and lacked sufficient sauce. However, the Boom Boom shrimp wrap was tasty.

If you're in the mood for delicious bar food, complete with French fries served in a cute little frying pan and a great selection of beer, this is the spot for you! The atmosphere is fantastic with good music and a relaxed vibe. The staff is very friendly, too. There’s also an outdoor seating area for those pleasant days and evenings. I visited on a weekday, but I can imagine it gets lively on the weekends!

This is a great local spot. Burgers are on point, and they also have a more sophisticated menu than your average bar. Their dessert menu is pretty awesome too- I?m obsessed with the cookie lava cake! Beer selection is unrivaled in the area. Thanks forhaving low-abv options!

A few Saturdays ago, I visited with a friend after a five- or six-hour hike at Norvin Green, eager to eat. The exterior of the restaurant is quite unremarkable, but upon entering, we were surprised to find it bustling with people on a random Monday afternoon in mid-August. We decided to try the chicken cutlet sliders and the grilled chicken sandwich with fries, and we were delighted to discover the pickled onions added a fantastic flavor! Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Their beer selection was impressive; I personally prefer draft beers, but they also have a wide variety of canned options to choose from. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. The prices were very reasonable. Although we were just passing through, we would definitely return if we're in the area again.
