Was JUDITH at Cr's The a mag?
Our server was outstanding. They were very attentive to my allergy needs. The food and wine recommendations were spot on. This is our favorite restaurant, and we travel 150 miles just to dine at CR’s. View all feedback.
What Patty dislikes about Cr's The:
That said, when this restaurant was known as Bonta, the food was inconsistent but generally of higher quality than what I experienced at CR's. It's a shame because it's a lovely location close to home, and I would have likely visited once or twice a month. What a disappointment! View all feedback.
Tenderloin, salmon, buratta salad, pork belly app, and mousse were all great. Service was outstanding. On Sunday evening, starting at 4PM, the entertainment is always a great background to a relaxing dinner.
Spoiled scallops.. ammonia smell Waitress unfriendly and overt annoyed when told of scallop issues. Slow .. very slow service Not even close to the quality of cr sparks Always wanted to try it as former sparks frequent flyers .. but unfortunately one and done
The clam chowder and corn chowder were particularly disappointing. The clam chowder had very few clams and the ones that were there were tiny, almost minced pieces. The corn chowder was unexpectedly sweet and didn't capture the classic creamy, buttery, and slightly salty profile of traditional New England clam chowder. The mashed potatoes were cold and had a gummy texture, likely from being overworked. The broccolini was grilled but lacked olive oil, salt, or pepper, resulting in a cold dish. The bok choy was also served cold. We experienced a long wait for our food, though our friends mentioned that their entrées were hot and delicious, which was a relief. It seemed the kitchen focused more on the entrées rather than the sides, which were intended to complement our meals. It's likely the sides were prepared well before the entrées were ready. Heather did acknowledge the extended wait, which we appreciated, but we felt it wasn't worth asking her to reheat or remake our dishes since we had already been waiting for a while. During our previous visit a month ago, we weren’t impressed either. I ordered the Risotto Primavera, which turned out watery and lacking flavor. However, I noticed that the ingredients for that dish have likely changed since then, so it may be better now.
At 4 pm Sunday there was very little activity—both a plus, and perhaps a minus, if you’re looking for a hopping place (I’m not). One consequence was a musical ensemble whose volume was not modulated by a large and chatty crowd. But, assuming your primary goals are a nice menu, good service, and high quality food, you won’t be disappointed, nor will you be surprised that the check is commensurate
