The BG is a bustling spot on the Halifax waterfront with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The food received mixed reviews, with some dishes like the Lobster Roll and nachos lacking flavor and quality, while others praised the tasty and fresh food offerings. The service varied, with some customers encountering slow or rude servers, while others found the staff friendly and attentive. The prices were on the higher side, but the picturesque harbor view and ample beer selection made it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Overall, the BG is a casual and laid-back option for a meal or drinks, especially if you're looking for a spot with a waterfront view.

Was Anonym at The Stubborn Goat Gastropub a mag?
The staff was great and friendly, the interior was nicely decorated for the holiday. They had a holiday drink and menu which is nice. The service was good and the food was great too. We ordered the sausage platter, three different types that come with sauerkraut and different mustards. We also got the chefs loaded fries who had some delicious meatballs and marinara with the cheese curds. It was nice to get acquainted... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about The Stubborn Goat Gastropub:
This was my first time ordering food from here. My husband and I tried the Queso Grande hamburger. I did a take out order. The hamburgers had a good flavor and very spicy. However, do not expect to have the same one like the photo. Meat need to be cooked more. View all feedback.
On a recent visit to Halifax with a friend we decided to eat at this lively restaurant. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and was told the food was served "when it comes up" so great for sharing. We were fine with that (we thought) but it took 25 minutes or more for the first food to arrive, my friend's lobster mac and cheese, one I couldn't eat due to allergies. Another 25 minutes passed before my small salad finally arrived and then it became clear my other choice -- appetizer meat balls had never been ordered. The bar server was not that busy although when they realized we were not happy, the manager said they were "slammed" and consequently the service was not good. Simply terrible service and management as we had eaten at the Bicycle Thief where the service and food was outstanding and they served even more customers. We were still charged for this terrible food and service and there only compensation was for us to return the next day which clearly we had no desire to do so. When we returned to the Prince George Hotel where we were staying they told us they never recommend this restaurant as this is not an isolated experience. There are so many outstanding places to eat in Halifax, the Bicycle Thief, Five Fisherman to name but a few, so do yourself a favour and give this one a big pass.
Great stop for a burger or sea food - servers are "college kids" - friendly, fun, but a bit slow and distracted. However anything you need, they are happy to get - like drinks, salt, ketchup, silverware - lol - Just a great place for a relaxed meal, can sit outside under a cover if rain, just be patient, this isn't a 4 star place - but great relaxed fun.
They have a great beer tap here, and the pub food is well above average. I had a Pad Thai type pizza, and my partner had lobster cheese macaroni. Booth were very good. One nice feature here is that they bring your food out as soon as it is ready, to serve at peak freshness. They don't hold all the meals until everyone's order is ready (good approach).Great patio, and good spot to watch the game at the bar.
We had a fantastic meal in Halifax at the Stubborn Goat. Our waitress couldn’t have been nicer. One of our party had a Gluten allergy and they have several good choices. We tried the lobster BLT and the smash burger. All very good. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Options Available
We hosted a networking event with 30+ people at the Goat and it was such a great experience. Food was fantastic, drinks were excellent, and the service from the team was outstanding. Would highly reccommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
