Step Dancers and Prime Rib: Watching the step dancers in front of our table from 2:30 3:30 Sunday p.m. while we ate the prime rib special dinner was a fun experience. However, taste the gravy before putting it on your food, as we all found it to be way, way over seasoned with black pepper. I took off one food star and one overall star for that. You can reserve a table next to the dancers, but best to be there by at least 2:00 p.m. Expect to enjoy the wonderful step dancers without talking, since they make quite a noise for 1 hour, and there is time to talk before and after or at a table further away from the fun. An absolutely amazing dinner we had here. We were recommended this pub, it did not disappoint. The pub was busy but everyone was respectful and it made for an amazing night. We sat up in the more dining style tables so it was a bit quieter but if you went closer to the bar the energy, the fun and the music were great! The stew and chicken burger were delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was yummy too! Will definitely eat here again then next time we visit! For those that appreciate it: yes the bathrooms were very clean! The food was very good and our waitress Sally was very friendly, attentive, efficient and professional. We will definitely be going back the next time we visit Halifax. Not expensive for everything we had and very generous portions. Price per person: $30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We went here during a holiday when not a lot of restaurants are open. We had the brunch menu, got the normal continental breakfast plate called Nelly's Breakfast, nothing special. The beef in the stew is soft, i don't like the stew so much. But the chowder was great, it lived up to the hype. Overall, i would say nothing special with the brunch menu, not a lot to choose from as well. The cocktails were great though! Prices are average in the area. Will be back, for sure!
Love the atmosphere of this place. Went for a quick supper before a concert. The service is fast and friendly and although my friends' beer on tap arrived flat our server did replace it which was great. We ordered the Bangers Mash and the Fish Burger The food was tasty although I wasn't expecting basically fish and chips on a bun.
