There is an oriental snack bar at this Sobeys where Asian meals are cooked to order, right in front of you. You can dine in if you like, in a nice room with tables and high stools and plenty of natural light. They even have wifi in this Sobeys, which is great. Today I looked the revolving Asian menu over and ordered the Japanese vegetable curry. The chef was so nice, asking me all the different choices connected to this dish. It was ready quickly and I took it over to the dining room and dug in. It was definitely delish! It was perfectly hot - hot enough temperaturewise and tastewise. There was a nice contrast between the fluffy white rice and curried vegetables. I liked the addition of black and white sesame seeds on the rice plus chopped green onion and sliced Japanese ginger. Plenty to eat and at a reasonable price of $8 plus tax. It was really very good and I will definitely order it again!
Well done much needed upgrade to this location for Sobeys. The new concept is better to navigate and has lots more to offer in both fresh foods and specialized foods. A real feature is at the back of the new section. This is where you will find the "aged beef" hideaway. The food cost more but is certainly better quality and above the average food store level. Better than ever Sobeys !!
Great improvements have been made to this store. Have a nice variety of different foods picked up some different cheese. As well have lots of foods to stamp,e in the store. Sobers is the only store that carries the gluten free English muffins we like. This store is not close to where we live but like to shop there when in the city
I have eaten here twice. A few weeks I had a slice of vegetarian pizza. The pizza was already prepared, and they heated up my slice and I ate it in the nice seating area at the front of the store. Today I ordered vegetarian soup made with bonito flakes. It came with tofu inari, lots of udon noodles and seaweed. It was ready in five minutes, and served piping hot. The soup was delicious and I would definitely order it again. They also serve really delicious chocolate eclairs.
