I had lunch with two other people at lunchtime. we had fast, friendly and helpful service. they had a very good selection of local beers. many different menu items. I had her brisket eier benny and it was delicious. the other two meal times were simple. so good. great location on the coast, beautiful interieur and very nice people. the prices are very reasonable for all this. What Maud Predovic dislikes about Black Sheep:
Called for a reservation for three on a Tuesday evening for a special occasion, but was told that although the restaurant does not take reservations for small parties, we would have no wait on a Tuesday night. When we arrived after searching for a parking spot and getting soaked in pouring rain, we were told too cheerfully and unapologetically that we might be seated in about 45 minutes. Not cool. This place didn't disappoint__We had the house fries with black mayonnaise to start, followed by the ravioli.
My many experiences at Black Sheep have been positive and delicious. Their recent burger promo is the best food deal on offer in Halifax. These guys know how to bring the bodies in with an incredibly delicious burger. Their cocktails are some of the best of the city. The smell of smoked rosemary fills this place every time an Islander is ordered and that's pretty often. It's a great drink and I'd recommend it to everyone, whether you're a cocktail aficionado or a newbie. Aaaaand I haven't even mentioned PINT BY NUMBERS: the best local beer at an unreal price. Propellor pints anybody? Meet ya at 4.
The menu has food I’d never cook at home, the cocktails are cleverly named and f*cking delicious. From food to service (Chloe is a pure delight) and through to decor (rather enjoy the light wood/black walls) I really like this little spot. I find myself returning often Black Sheep is uniquely special.
The lobster ravioli with focaccia was delicious!
Service was great, food was excellent but did take awhile tho for 2 small plates.
