They were one of the few ryokans that responded positively to my inquiry. When I made the reservation, I mentioned our dietary preferences, and they followed up with detailed questions about ingredients and food preferences. Their attention to detail was much appreciated. Upon arrival, we were impressed with the quality of the food. The chef clearly put effort into creating flavorful and creative dishes that catered to our dietary needs. It was the most luxurious holiday I have ever experienced, and the level of personalized service was unparalleled. While it is quite expensive, I believe it is worth every penny. The prices are per person, per night and include breakfast and dinner. I discovered them when I emailed several ryokan in Hakone to inquire about vegan options. Gora Kadan was one of the few that responded, confirming they could accommodate vegans. When I made the reservation, they took note of our dietary preferences and followed up with specific questions about ingredients and food choices. They were very thorough and helpful. The meals were delicious and it was evident that the chef put in a lot of effort to make our food flavorful and creative. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the dining experience was exceptional.
