Description

The Three Crowns in Stoke Newington has received mixed reviews, primarily due to poor service. Despite this, customers have praised the delicious Sunday roast and the revamped menu by the new head chef. The bar area is not the most inviting, but the cozy ambiance of the restaurant and the diverse menu offerings make it worth a visit. While some have had negative experiences with service, others have found attentive staff like Miguel to enhance their dining experience. Overall, The Three Crowns seems to be making positive changes and is worth a try for a relaxed meal with friends or family.

I finally had a chance to visit this restaurant. Although I had only been in for drinks before, I had never thought of it as a place for a meal. What a pleasant surprise! The menu and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. We decided to try a variety of dishes, like tapas, sharing a number of starters and one main course. The Pork Belly Chips were fantastic, the Chorizo Scotch Egg was perfect, and the Burrata with Romesco Sauce was delicious. The only downside was that the Barnsley Chop was slightly overcooked and not very warm, but we may have confused the Chef with our choices. Overall, the pub had great food, service (thanks Erin), and ambiance. If you're in Stoke Newington, don't make the same mistake I did - definitely give this place a try.

We decided to dine at this restaurant primarily for the air conditioning (as it was the beginning of a scorching heatwave). The restaurant had a charming ambiance, with large windows allowing for natural light to fill the space, as well as cozy wooden interiors and comfortable tufted bench seating. We opted for the Sunday Roast priced at 18.50GBP, and found it to be excellent value for money. The service, however, was quite slow - it took over thirty minutes to receive our orders, even though we were the only customers present. Nevertheless, we were not in a rush so it did not bother us much. This restaurant is a good choice if you are seeking a cool environment and have plenty of time to spare. They offer vegan/vegetarian options as well as a kids' menu, and have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages available. The restaurant is open daily, from 4 pm on Mondays to Wednesdays, and from noon on Thursdays to Sundays.

The redeeming factor was the food, as we enjoyed all four different Sunday lunches we had. Despite the changes made since my last visit, the place seems to have lost its traditional pub charm. The hand pumps for ales have been replaced with chrome keg taps, and while there are some craft ale options, it does not fully embody a modern craft bar. Furthermore, every table in the establishment is now set up for dining, with the exception of one lone settee in the lounge area. Perhaps this place operates as a restaurant during the day and transforms into a bar once the open kitchen closes. However, I remain skeptical about its capabilities as a restaurant, despite the skilled chefs working in the open kitchen.

Homophobic staff, £7.10 badly poured pints. Don’t kiss or show affection if you’re gay, it puts people off their food according to staff.

Thank you Miguel, our brilliant server who found us a table AND got our order in, even after last orders. What a legend! He was so attentive and welcoming, with a very friendly persona and lovely attitude to work even though he was tired! Thank you Miguel! And totally delicious burgers from Krapow!
