The Haggerston - Hackney

Great Dylan’s service was second to none. He was attentive and the way in which he cared for his guests set an example for the whole of London. Well done Dylan’s and thank you.

…traditional local and new gentrified, this pub maybe had the best atmosphere of any of the pubs we visited on our pub crawl because it was actually playing Christmas songs. Decent drinks choice and friendly staff too.

I don’t think I would go to this pub if it were not for the small but interesting art gallery in the basement. The music is not too loud and nice, the beer is reasonably priced and tasted good. However, the customer service is pretty poor, the people behind the bar were more interested in their phones than the customers. There were bar stools all across the front of the bar, so when people sat there it was really awkward to order. I had heard about the pizza and was keen to try, but there were was only one printed menu in the entire place. So I gave up and left. It wouldn’t take much to make this pub a bit better.

A new chef has recently taken over the kitchen and the pizzas are quality napolitain style sourdough. The tiramisu (sorry about spelling) is delicious too. Well worth a try.

My sister and I have been in London for two weeks, and we decided to visit the Haggerston Pub based on some friend recommendations. I was a bit taken aback when the starter arrived still frozen, even after a 45-minute wait. However, we appreciated that the pub started to fill up quickly. Unfortunately, we never received our main course. The bar staff wouldn't issue a refund, but they were kind enough to set us up with a tab for drinks. One thing I should mention is that the bouncers became quite loud and rowdy, which was a bit unsettling. We weren’t sure what was happening, so we chose to settle our bill and leave around 8 PM. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're very familiar with the area and know how to take care of yourself.
