Was Eleanor Jackson at Exquisite a mag?
Nice food. It is a Mexican place and they also cook non-Mexican food, and what? Don't be a hater. The rib-eye steak was really nice, and the service was quick and polite. It wasn't very expensive either. I definitely recommend it, or at least give it a try. View all feedback.

The portions here are huge and the food is delicious! We ordered a shared starter, a main course, two bottles of Corona, and a shared cocktail jug (which was fantastic!) for about £26. There was a decent selection of vegetarian options, some of which looked even better than the meat dishes. However, the music didn't quite suit the atmosphere for me. This restaurant is a wonderful spot to gather with friends. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the food is excellent, and the customer service is top-notch.
One of my favorite restaurants in Finsbury Park! The mussels are absolutely delicious. Hopefully I can visit again soon.

My girlfriend and I visited twice, and both times, we were the only customers there. It doesn’t seem like any effort is being made to attract more diners. While foot traffic on Blackstock Road isn’t particularly strong, the lack of patrons here suggests that locals have tried it and aren’t eager to return. The food is mediocre at best. The portion sizes are enormous, but they’re not very affordable. I ordered a small burrito that was so large I struggled to finish it. It lacked flavor, which is surprising for a Mexican restaurant. Both my girlfriend and I noted that the tomato sauce tasted just like a can of tomatoes that had been heated up—nothing more. It was topped with a couple of dollops of sour cream and an overwhelming amount of cheddar cheese. The smoked chicken inside was dry and tasted a bit off. After a while, eating it felt like chewing someone else’s jalapeño-flavored gum. I feel a bit guilty criticizing a local, independent business, but I can't help but see it as a missed opportunity, especially when there are places like Loco Mexicano in Westbourne Grove that truly deliver what you want.

There was a decent selection of vegetarian options, some of which looked even better than the meat dishes. However, the music didn't quite suit the atmosphere for me. I wasn't expecting traditional Mexican tunes, but the choice of pop music, like Lady Gaga, didn't really set the right vibe. A bit of Latin or acoustic music would have been a better fit. On the positive side, the staff were excellent—attentive without being intrusive, and they surprised us with complimentary tequila shots at the end!
Conveniently situated just a 5-minute walk from Finsbury Park tube station, this restaurant truly delivers on its promise. We made a last-minute reservation for an 8pm table on a Saturday evening around 5pm. Although we arrived a bit late, we were warmly welcomed and seated in the bustling main area of the restaurant. The portion sizes were generous, and the food was absolutely delicious! For starters, we enjoyed whitebait and squid, both of which were flavorful. For our main courses, we each opted for burritos—my partner chose chicken, while I had the smoked chicken. They were both scrumptious and quite filling; in hindsight, we could have skipped the starters. We accompanied our meals with the house wine, which was excellent, and noticed a great selection of other wines and beers available as well. The service was attentive, and we happily left a sizable tip. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and return without hesitation.
This has become something of a regular haunt for my partner and I, usually when one or both of us are reeling from a heavy night. It's tasty and easy and I say that having until relatively recently, thought I loathed Mexican food full of refried black bean slop and acidy tomato stuff. The portions are scarily generous but somehow we tend to forget this between visits and always over order (getting what's left to go always provides us with a welcome midnight snack once our appetites are revived). And it's definitely a cheap eat, especially when you get the 25% off offered before 7pm. We're slowly making our way through the healthy selection of seafood and veggie options but never fail to order the whitebait to start, deep fried and served with a tangy tartar sauce. It's a firm favorite. The décor is far from exquisite as the name may suggest, but more beachside café. But I'd rather that than dreary Finsbury Park. The place tends to fill up quickly and early, great if you're a ruthless people watcher but better still, a good incentive to get there before 7pm. And if the otherwise sulky waitress failed to meet you at the door on arrival she's always there with a big smile to open the door and offer you a warm farewell once you're done.
This is the sister restaurant to pizzadelique [hidden link] just across the road. A little bit of an odd twinning which makes me wonder about the owners and their history, but this is as much of a decent place for cheap and casual dinner as its Italian partner. I guess the main draw here is the ridiculous amount of food dished up. I 'm no mexican food pro, so doubt that it 's all that 'authentic ' or whatever, but it 's still super tasty and fresh. The burrito portion is probably the most ridiculous, with four served up on a plate. My partner in crime managed to scoff the lot, just about, but he was a little quiet and still for the rest of the night. I made the ever imaginative fajita choice the chicken was good and meaty of course, lots of it , veggies sizzling, and it was nice and spicy too. The service is a little flat, but fast at least. The atmosphere is a little low if there aren 't too many people in, but it 's easily pepped up when more people are eating. I think people tend to eat here late in the evening, so that might be your best bet for a lively night.
