Reviews - Commissary
Reviews summary
Nestled by the canal, this restaurant offers a picturesque setting perfect for summer dining. Guests appreciate the outdoor seating and friendly staff, making it a favored spot for brunch and drinks. However, the experience is marred by consistently long wait times for food, sometimes exceeding an hour, leading to frustration among patrons. Service shortcomings have been noted, with customer relations lacking during delays. Though the menu has limited vegan options and higher deposit demands for events have deterred some guests, the lovely atmosphere remains a highlight. Overall, the restaurant is best suited for leisurely visits, provided diners are prepared for potential delays.

Commissary is absolutely the top restaurant in town. The daily specials never disappoint, and the staff is fantastic. It's definitely one of my favorite spots to relax and enjoy. View all feedback.
What EFinners dislikes about Commissary:
Went for lunch with a friend, asked when ordering how the wait was on food and we were told 15 minutes. An hour later one of our sandwiches arrived, with no acknowledgement that we were still waiting on a second. About ten mins later I asked the member of staff if the other was on its way, I got a grunt and a scowl, and I actually ended up apologising for asking about it !!!? . When finally the second sandwich arrive... View all feedback.

I recently had a delightful Sunday brunch at this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the outdoor seating area was fantastic, situated right by the canal. Just a reminder, you will need to buzz the gate on the bridge to enter the restaurant.
We have visited this restaurant multiple times over the years while working and living nearby. The food is good and the location is lovely for the summer as you can sit by the canal. The downside, however, is the long wait times. On several occasions, I had to wait at least half an hour to receive my food, which is half of my lunch break. Last Friday, the wait time increased to an hour. When I approached the staff about the delay, they mentioned that they were extremely busy. I believe that our order was mistakenly given to someone else by the waitress. Although they offered a refund, we still had to pay for the drinks we ordered while waiting for our food. The refund did not satisfy my hunger. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant and would advise others not to go, unless you are willing to wait an hour for your food.
I really enjoy this bar by the canal. It has a great selection of drinks and the staff is friendly and helpful. The seating on the wharf is plentiful and on warm summer days, it gets quite busy because it's such a pleasant spot. I have been here multiple times and both myself and my friends really like this place.
Gorgeous spot by the Canal. Really relaxing, lovely staff. Quite quiet when we went but can imagine it must get pretty lively during the evenings.
Found this by chance and is now a one of the favorite spots. The bar sits on the on the edge of the canal tucked away between Angel and Old street station. The outdoor seating is the pontoon on the river which is quite interesting as it gets bumpy when people are walking up and down it. The drink selection is good but nothing special, it is however sufficient for a good session there.

The restaurant has a beautiful location on the canal, but the entrance can be a bit hard to find. Despite being full, it doesn't feel too busy. There aren't many alcohol-free options and only one vegan meal choice. We plan to return in the summer to enjoy the bustling deck area.
Beautiful place on the canal! really good burger, I also liked the spicy pommes.
Commissary is an outstanding restaurant that perfectly caters to the vegan diners in your life. It features a lovely backdrop and is an easy stroll along Regents Canal from King's Cross. The menu offers a fantastic variety of options.
A charming hidden gem by the canal! The staff were delightful, and the ambiance was superb.
