Was Anonym at Szechuan Open Kitchen a mag?
My family and I have been visiting this restaurant for nearly 20 years, and it truly offers the best Chinese food in Gresham. The hot and sour soup is especially delicious! We always order the Happy Family and General Tso Chicken, and we also love the sesame beef and orange chicken. I highly recommend trying it! View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Szechuan Open Kitchen:
Just ok. The hot and sour soup has pretty mild. The wonton soup was better, though it had carrots, mushrooms and shrimp. I was ok with that. The general tsos chicken was just ok. The pork lo-main was as expected. I will say that the portions were huge. View all feedback.

This is my favorite spot for Chinese cuisine, especially because they offer a wide range of gluten-free options. The food is absolutely delicious. We've ordered take-out and had delivery multiple times. After noticing how charming the interior of the restaurant is, we finally decided to eat there in person, and the experience was even better. Our server was excellent—she answered all our questions and helped us choose our meals. The portion sizes are generous and very reasonably priced considering the quality and quantity. I will definitely be coming back!

In my opinion, this is the best Chinese restaurant in the greater Portland area. I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience here; the food consistently outshines any other Chinese place I can think of in the region. Whether it's lunch or dinner, this spot is always exceptional, and it’s great to see the chefs preparing your meal right in front of you.

The shrimp fried rice was pathetic. I could have easily made it at home. It looked like they just tossed in some frozen mixed vegetables and a few shrimp – and it wasn’t even fried! The rice was still white! My husband was so disheartened that he said WU's Restaurant had the best fried rice, and compared to this, it truly was a joke. My daughter and I tried the General Tso's Chicken, but they packed it in a tight container, which made the chicken soggy. All the sauce settled at the bottom, and it tasted overly tangy, which wasn't mentioned in the menu. The flavor had changed from the last time we had it, and we were really disappointed. My daughter had come from out of state specifically for this meal, so that added to her letdown. As for the salt and pepper shrimp, my son-in-law said all he could taste was salt, which left him disappointed too. After this experience, we won’t be returning, which is sad because we used to have such fond memories of this place.

For my money, this is the best Chinese food in the greater Portland area. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience here, the food is always superior to every Chinese food place in the area that I could think of. Lunch or dinner this place is alwaysawesome and you can watch them cook your food.

Great gluten-free options. The gluten-free salt and pepper shrimp is one of my favorite dishes anywhere.
