Got a pasta& salmon salad with octopus. Everything tasted super fresh and delicious ah. Absolutely loved freshness of a salad itself, as well as perfectly suited dressing and salmon crust. Pasta was pretty unique too. Extra stars for the service, veryy kind and helpful, one of the best services I met by far in Giessen and around. Thanks for having us ! Xx might come back there for another date
The food itself was okay. I had a pinsa and my companion had a pasta dish. After we ordered our dishes, the cutlery was simply thrown (slammed) onto the table without placing the cutlery “gently” in the designated place. We then took over this. For drinks we each had 2 rose wines that tasted bitter and strong and were of the cheapest quality. The service was impersonal and unfriendly. After the meal we weren't even asked if everything had been okay or if we had anything else we wanted. Before the owner posts that we are lying here and that we were not in the location, I have to say that there are several “witnesses” to this. Furthermore, I (the author) myself have Sicilian roots and know what Italian hospitality means. But Sicily is not Calabria either.
We always enjoy going to Gianoli as a group. A really authentic Italian that serves the finest dishes that are always a real treat for the palate. While you wait for your food you can have a wonderful chat with the head waiter. Also a very likeable fellow! During our visit there was plenty of bread and wonderful pasta dishes. The truffle pasta is absolutely recommended! Very tasty, creamy and extremely tasty! A visit to Gianoli is highly recommended!
Delicious pasta, not everything is really 100% original Italian, but unusual pasta creations and “classics” are also very tasty. Service friendly, quick and competent. Nevertheless, it would be great if variations such as Panzerotti or Arancini were included in the program.

Great Italian. Every couple of months the menu changes making it always a great experience to try something new! Great flavor and service.

Without having called before going there, they had for almost all pasta a gluten free option. Also they served gluten free bread which tasted amazing!
I ordered glutenfree pasta and was servered normal one... waitress assured me it was glutenfree even if it wasn't... no excuse or compensation .... very annoying experience.... would never go there again

Very pleasantly surprised by this fine Italian dining area. quality food and Italian authenticity; I would even dare to judge Gianoli as Top3 Pasta Restaurant throughout the Hesse. Very recommended! P.S. other dishes and the wine menu are also great.
Big pasta, even if a bit on the expensive side, it's totally worth it. You can also order various salads and meat dishes, but I suggest to go there for their pasta
Location is nice, seating is good and food is good. It’s not spectacular Italian but enjoyable. The family trip in a new city kind of enjoyable. The service was terrible. Atrocious. First, we asked for bread nothing. Asked again nothing. The Arrabiata with chicken instead of bacon because my friend doesn’t eat pork was brought out as some greenish sauce with bacon certainly far from an arrabbiata. We tried to contact waiting staff but they stared into blank space. Then I waved intently to three of them standing next to each other but none came. I ended up calling the place and asking if they could send someone out. Then when the waitress came we explained that this is not what we ordered and she didn’t even apologize but just asked what the initial order was. Right before she left with the incorrect order I asked if she could remake mine or simply reheat it so that we can eat together, which we had come to do (I shouldn’t even have to ask they are in the hospitality business they do it for a living is it so preposterous a claim? . She glared at me and took my plate. Then when the new order came, again it was an incorrect green sauce (not pesto but with chicken. We didn’t want to deal with the staff anymore so we ate it. In the end, there were no apologies of any kind nor behavior that would imply such. The espresso is unfortunately also subpar for what you would expect at such a well rated Italian restaurant. Overall a very disappointing experience and although my friend is a regular, I won’t be back.
