The food was excellent, the service was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. It's also ideal for children. We love going there, especially in the evening, when the Badenburg is even more rustic.
I gladly give the castle, the food, and the ambiance 5 stars. The only downside is the journey there, which leads along unpaved and narrow country lanes, earning it a 3-star rating. However, it's definitely worth it. Reservations are highly recommended. It's also great for birthdays and has a beer garden in the summer. I would also rate the value for money 5 stars.
The name says it all. A wonderfully authentic atmosphere. If you come here with a big appetite, you'll be in good hands; otherwise, you can always have the rest packed up. The staff is very attentive.
It's an old knight's castle that has adapted its food to the ambiance.
Very friendly staff, plenty of food. As you can see in the pictures, we had a burger, a scoop of dirt, and two buckets of bones. Anything not eaten on the premises can be packaged and taken home. We were there on October 19th and will be back with family on Boxing Day. Groups can reserve by phone, and smaller groups can book online. Highly recommended.

It was unbearable because two children played around and screamed. It didn't bother parents and staff. Was the worst visit I ever had there for 35 years. This is also calculated at once for the reordering of sep. peppercorns with the bones at 2.50. Especially since you can't do anything for saving the kitchen sometimes. The white bread seemed old and not crunchy.
Great restaurant....all totally pointed.... recommended are the Burgknochen and the Burggeist.... also the softeis is absolutely awesome.

The ambience is definitely unbeatable, the castle cellar is rustic and cozy the terrace overlooking the Lahn. The service was friendly tonight and very hard to serve us quickly. Since the bones did not taste so well last time, this time we ordered too little meat, too dry and only moderately seasoned. We had both variants with Champion Rahm and Paprika sauce. The mushrooms were completely missed from the can and the cream, tastefully absolutely no more highlight a disappointment that meat itself was very dry. At the first bite of my carving with paprika, that was lukewarm, I had a known taste on the tongue, after a little superior I also knew what the basis of sauce was: Gulasch soup from the can with paprika. At the latest at this point I felt very exaggerated. The beautiful operation did not even ask how it tasted, probably better from experience. We drank a burg spirit, highly recommended to wash such a food. Never again Badenburg....
A snail, please! Excuse me? If you ask yourself...but that's serious. Here you get dirt to eat; literally. That's a menu. Funny name, but delicious. Badenburg is an original shop at Lahn. Unfortunately, not quite cheap and somewhat remote. But whoever wants to spit like a knight is right here.
I've been with friends for the first time in Badenburg on Sunday two weeks ago and I have to say that it was really good and it tasted really good. Badenburg is a somewhat rustic restaurant on the Lahn near the Giessen, not directly in the city centre. Nevertheless, a trip is worthwhile. At affordable prices gets good and above all decent food. In my opinion, the Burgknochen (important: with Knobi-Tunke! as well as the Schippe Dreck . We didn't have to wait long until we were served and the food was served in a reasonable time. The staff was nice and friendly.
Incredibly good restaurant in perfect ambience (Burgkeller). The bones with garlic tuna are mad. The location is very quiet on the Lahn but also very cozy.
Why only two points Simply declare that we were invited by my wife for a birthday to visit the great place again. After the order came the wrong salad instead of vegetarian came one with shrimp and chickens An employee (Chefin) ah, who is not so bad that you will take. Now you are kind and you said try salad, but tastefully not ok Then finally also hair in salad. Delicious??? On request we could get a bowl for the eggnogs we were ignored. We'd have drunk more than just a drink in an hour. All in all then the bill and what should I say the full price for the salad that was no more edible for someone who wanted vegetarians. Thanks to the big team thanks also for the great evening that is now dirty.

Since my studies an integral part of gastronomic life. Whenever it hits me into the area, it must be a visit to Badenburg. The Burgknochen with Knobisauce are the hammer!! Original ambience, rustic with nice operation. Always like it!
