I enjoyed an amazing lunch today at The Osprey! The steamed mussels in a garlic wine broth were fantastic. My husband had a delicious and enormous fish sandwich. The location is beautiful, with lovely views of the charming harbor. The staff was fast and friendly, and the owner even offered us a chance to use his far-sighted binoculars to view the Osprey nest!
We had an exceptional lunch by the water during our first visit, and we can't wait to return! They put a fantastic twist on classic dishes. The fish tacos, chowder, and damper were absolutely delicious. The fish and chips were substantial and cooked to perfection, and the sweet potatoes were the best we've ever had. The new owners and waitstaff were incredibly courteous and attentive.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience. We were seated at a table with a dirty glass surface; it seemed like it had only been wiped down with a damp cloth instead of being properly cleaned with glass cleaner. No water or glasses were provided, and we were not offered any bread. The appetizers didn’t come with a side salad, although we were told we could order one for an extra charge. I ordered a $20 steak, which arrived cold and was far too tough to chew. The presentation of the food was unappealing as well. Overall, it was a very unsatisfactory dining experience.
