I've visited this restaurant multiple times before going vegan, and I can honestly say that the seasonal veggie tacos (just ask to omit the cheese) are one of the standout dishes on their menu. During my last visit, they were filled with sautéed kale, sweet potato, and I believe chard. I opted for the flour tortilla and black beans, and it was so delicious that I found myself wanting more!
The tacos are prepared with kale and sweet potato, garnished with salsa. They were enjoyable, although not outstanding. I'm fairly certain the tortilla chips are made from flour, which is okay—just different from what I'm accustomed to.
Whenever I go to Georgetown, I frequently eat at this restaurant. Although there aren't many vegan options, there are a lot of tasty dishes available for vegetarians.
The vegetarian options here are delicious, and with a great view as well – plus, it's conveniently close to home. You really can't ask for more!
As you approach, it's clear that El Monumento is not your typical Mexican restaurant. The architectural design and outdoor seating are stunning, reflecting a thoughtful and elegant taste. The ambiance makes you feel as if you’re in a serene desert setting, complete with the heat and prickly pear cacti. The service was excellent, and our waiter, Will, was very accommodating. They also offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The food was delicious, and the gluten-free pie from El Monumento was a highlight.
