Nosh
Description
Nestled in a charming locale, this restaurant offers an enticing mix of breakfast and lunch options, ranging from delightful chilaquiles to homemade beignets. While many patrons rave about the friendly service and appealing outdoor patio, some diners express disappointment in the inconsistency of the food quality. Popular items like the Cuban sandwich and corned beef hash have left guests wanting more in terms of flavor and presentation. Despite mixed reviews about specific dishes, the overall atmosphere and attentive staff often shine through, making this spot worth a visit for a pleasant daytime meal, even if some may have reservations about returning.

This charming, unique restaurant in Geneva is a delightful find. It’s the ideal spot for enjoying Chiliquiles, delicious breakfast bowls, homemade Beignets (powdered sugar donuts), and tasty breakfast sandwiches. The coffee is also fantastic! They offer a variety of distinctive cocktails, with Bloody Marys and mimosas being just a couple of highlights. For lunch, their homemade Tuscan bean and sausage soup, along with burgers served with fries and aioli sprinkled with Parmesan, are excellent choices. The salads are incredibly fresh, and you can customize them with shrimp, chicken, or salmon, accompanied by unique dressings. Their sandwiches are just as impressive! The service is always friendly, with the nicest waitstaff. The only downside is that I wish they were open for dinner too!
I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with Poached Eggs and the Shrimp and Polenta. The food was prepared quickly and arrived hot. My first impression was that the poached eggs were cooked in cups, and the corned beef was shredded and stringy, accompanied by soft potato halves that were not crisp, all topped with a drizzled sauce or aioli. Unfortunately, the poached eggs were overcooked, and the shredded beef did not have the texture I prefer. The caramelized onions were unfortunately piled under one of the eggs. I generally prefer my hash diced and cooked together for a better caramelized appearance and flavor. The Shrimp and Polenta dish was different; it featured small pieces of shrimp, well-cooked eggs, and good quality polenta. However, the only noticeable spice came from the Sriracha or hot sauce drizzled on top. I would have liked to see the shrimp seasoned with some Creole spices and sautéed properly; it would also have been better with larger shrimp pieces rather than just chopped. While I might return to try other items on the menu, I was disappointed with what I tried this time. Sorry to say that. Parking: Conveniently located next to the restaurant and within walking distance.
I waited patiently for about 10 minutes without being recognized. Then, out of nowhere, a woman came up to the counter and shouted an order to the girl. Only then did the girl turn to me and say she would be with me shortly. After finishing up with the other lady first, she finally turned to me and asked what I would like. At that point, I decided to leave and go elsewhere. It’s disappointing to see customers treated this way while rude regulars receive priority. I will not be coming back to this restaurant again.
Really good service experience. They’re responsive -they seated us right away, where we wanted to be, outside. They have a nice patio dining area that is so charming. The food was great. Enjoyed my veggie panini and the kids ate their side of fries, pancakes and brioche French toast. When it was time to run, and the kids were starting to wander and get antsy, they were fastand responsive with to-go containers, a bag and the bill, so I have to say, from start to finish, our meal was enjoyable andefficient. Thank you!
