Resto Chez Mo-Nik - Gatineau

Service was a little slow. Wasn't like that before. Great little restaurant. Food is great.

I used to come here all the time when I lived in Hull, then I moved back to Italy 4 years ago and I never got a chance to visit Canada again until now. I had missed this place so much and took my husband here twice in the three days I was in Hull : It hasn't changed at all, the breakfast is still spectacular, the service impeccable, the prices more than reasonable. My absolute favourite place for breakfast/brunch in the whole world! Merci Monique et Andrew, nous allons retourner avec notre fille après sa naissance!

Used to love this place but last time I came I was hoping for the thing I used to get which was something like a breakfast poutine or skillet of potatoes, veggies, Benedict sauce, and cheese, like I see in the pictures, but the server seemed to deny such a thing ever existed or that the menu ever changed?? Anyways it seems like it took a step back in terms of some things like options/accommodations for vegetarians which I remember used to be possible (like swapping meats for other things free of charge .. but now it's like they can't do that? Like, there should be plenty of things cheaper than meat that should work, I would think? . Not sure if I'll be back or not...

Would not recommend, asked for a western omelette and it came back burnt, the meat and veggies were all in one pile with no cheese. My potatoes were also burnt. My s/o got a « crepe » that was basically Aunt Jemima pancake mix smooshed down, and it was also burnt. Needless to say someone should keep an eye on the grill to make sure not to burn the food. Also the extra side of bacon I paid for was half cooked (at least they didn’t burn the bacon lol), in a ball and stringy.

The place was good. I liked the food; the portions were nice and generous. The staff were friendly.
