What User doesn't like about Fuji Sushi:
To be fair, it was a quick stop for a boxed lunch. The nigiri and the cucumber rolls were good but, as is usual in NA, lacked any wasabi at all. The small rolls were supposed to be spicy crab, I think, but were dry and tasteless. Lots of soya sauce and ginger pickle were included and enough wasabi for me. Round chopsticks and a couple of decent napkins also. I would go back to discover the quality of their freshly ma... View all feedback.
We frequently order takeout from this restaurant. They offer a wide variety of menu options, including choices for our children who prefer cooked dishes over raw fish. As they are becoming increasingly popular, it is best to call ahead to place your order. My favorite dish is the shrimp tempura.
The fish at this restaurant was very stale and lacked flavor. The sushi shop on St. Joseph Street is far superior, with fresher fish and friendlier staff.
Good sushis are hard to find in the Gatineau/Hull part of the city and unfortunately, Fuji Sushi did not live up to the task, despise its good reviews. The sushis were poorly made, they barely hold on together. Rice was lacking, portions were small since sushis were very short compared to any other sushi places I went to. Even commercial places like Sushi Shop seems to have their sushis better made. Every sushi with crab meat tasted as if the crab came out of a can (to be honest, I am pretty sure it did! , it had no taste and were too salty. Far from fresh crab meat other places offer. Spicy ones were not spicy at all, they all tasted the same and the charged prices were more than the ones on the menu, since they raised their prices but did not updated their menu. On the positive side, part of the staff was friendly, despise the fact that they had forgotten part of my order, which I had to ask for twice. I will not be returning to Fuji Sushi. If you're looking for a great sushi place in Gatineau, I would suggest to go elsewhere.
Biggest pieces of fish. OMG. I will return for sure. The owner is always there and he is looking at every thing to make a great sushi experience.
I recently tried this restaurant in Gatineau and was pleasantly surprised by the warm and welcoming staff. The sushi was incredibly fresh and definitely worth the price. While the menu may be limited compared to other sushi restaurants, the quality of the food is quite good, especially considering the small size of the establishment.
