Casse-croûte Limbour - Gatineau

This charming little restaurant in Gatineau is a great spot to enjoy poutine and a variety of other dishes.

I stopped by this restaurant on my way to Mont Cascades. Having grown up in Montreal, I'm quite familiar with casse-croûtes. I have to say, this is by far the best casse-croûte I've experienced in the Gatineau region, and possibly the entire National Capital Region. The Michigan was incredible, the peppercorn poutine sauce was extraordinary, and even my picky son said we need to come back. And we definitely will!

After passing by Casse-Croute Limbour several times and craving poutine, I decided to stop by a few days ago to get a poutine and a hot dog to take home. Unfortunately, by the time I reached home, the hot dog was only lukewarm, and the buns were untoasted. While the hot dog had a nice snap, it didn't really stand out. The poutine was warmer, but the fries were lacking in salt and the gravy was just mediocre. Perhaps the experience would be much better if enjoyed fresh with a view of the river on a pleasant summer day, but I wasn’t particularly impressed with my takeaway meal.

I wanted to try this place. was very disappointed by the lack of cleanliness. the kitchen was full of rugged and pommes to the point where the staff slide on the floor. External are spacious but not clean. we ordered a middle poutin and a carnivore. the sauce on the carnivore was very salty, but still tasty. will probably not come back.
