Maple Leaf Restaurant - Gananoque
Maple Leaf Restaurant
Description
The Maple Leaf Restaurant offers a lovely European ambiance with a charming patio adorned with cascading plant life. The menu features classic dishes like sausage, spaetzl, sauerbraten, and schnitzel, all at reasonable prices. The service is excellent, with professional and friendly staff. While some diners found the portions to be on the smaller side and some dishes to be bland, overall the Maple Leaf Restaurant provides a cozy, authentic European dining experience that is worth a visit.

The food was ok, but the appetizers took almost 45 minutes and it was a soup that was as small as it was expensive, same for dessert. I hate saying this because they were really nice and the service was good.
Very friendly professional service. The dinner was plentiful and tasty. We both had two different versions of schnitzel spaetzle. The schnitzel was wonderful cooked (pan fried), the spaetzle could have done with a little less oil, but was tasty never the less. Thank Suzi for your professional service. Watching you work the tables and interacting with all the guests in a timely and friendly manner was a pleasure. Folks, front of house and the kitchen staff work well together in this restaurant. Having worked in the industry, you will not be disappointed. Well be back soon.Parking: All street parking in Gananoque is paid parking until 6 PM Mon-Sun. $1. Per hour with a 3 hour limit.
Sat down, took 15 mins just to get our drinks after ordering. Another half hour still no food. there wasn't many tables there for it to take that long. 2 other take that came in after us got their food before us. Ended up walking out.
Maple Leaf Grill is the great gem of Gananoque. Every element of this family restaurant was superb, from the rye bread starter to the drinks to the bacon and onion-topped pierogis to the cheese and prosciutto stuffed and topped Schnitzel, to the potato and spaetzle, to the blueberry streusel dessert. It's definitely a local, family restaurant, with friendly wait staff who have great recommendations. Sit down, relax, peer out onto King Street and spend an evening with a cavalcade of great German and Czechoslovakian dishes. You can taste the love and care that only can from a dinner made from scratch. They also have traditional fare ... I just was too busy savoring my schnitzel to notice!
Food was excellent, we just happened to arrive when everyone else in town was hungry at the same time. Only 2 servers were slammed as was the kitchen staff. Our food was delicious (caesar salad, Rahm schnitzel with spaetzle, and rainbow trout with veggies and rice. Would have stayed for dessert but we had a show to attend and our dinner took 40 minutes to arrive. Understand the issues and would return any way.
