Dragonfly Sushi Sake Company
Description
Gainesville's Dragonfly is a culinary gem, offering a vibrant mix of delicious dishes and an impressive menu. While the restaurant has delivered consistent quality and creativity over the years, recent experiences highlight a need for attention to detail in execution. Diners rave about the expertly crafted vegan rolls and the standout tofu ricotta, paired with knowledgeable staff eager to enhance the dining experience. Ambiance and presentation score high, yet some concerns about service timeliness and occasional missteps in food preparation suggest room for improvement. Overall, Dragonfly remains a compelling choice for food lovers seeking a premium dining experience.

Came here for a spontaneous date night. Had a 20-25 min wait. First time here and saw the reviews, setting the bar high. Glad to say the bar was met. Quality all around was great, even in the miso soup. Definitely pay for the premium. Prices reflectquality. Ordered the Miso Soup and Wontons to start. Miso soup had great quality ingredients such as mushrooms usually not foundin other restaurants. Wontons had very interesting flavors and were super creamy, would?ve preferred some real crab chunksthough, but that?s just my personal preference. All the sushi rolls were to die for. Black Dragon could use a bit more eel butoverall tasted great. Smoky dragon had a great balance of smoky flavors and great taste. Mango Tango felt more on thepresentation style rather than true sushi taste but if you want a fruity roll with some sweet potato chips, go for it. O-ToroNigiri met the standards but probably wouldn?t get again for such a high premium. Not a must have but a great experience totaste premium quality. Ended it off with the Tempura Fried Cheesecake which also tasted great. Overall a really great restaurantthat gives a premium experience for a premium price. Would come again.
Hands down one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to!! Very impressed with the quality and uniqueness of the food. Our server Emma was outstanding! She is very knowledgeable about all menu items and has a great personality. Our favorites werethe Volcano roll and green tea crème brûlée.
Presentation 10/10, staff 10/10, salmon nigiri, portion was smaller than I?m used to, but rice was perfect and actually just right 10/10 ; pork ramen 8/10 broth very, good pork perfect , soft cooked egg : not soft cooked
Get. The. Wagyu. (Get it sashimi) So good. I've had the braised rib ramen, pork pan seared dumplings and the beginner Saki flight. All are worth the visit. Service is a little slow so expect a slightly longer dinning experience but the food is worthevery minute of your time.
SUPER GOOD!! Every drink and dish that came out blew me away. Their mocktail menu was new and creative, I had some sort of a banana cream one. The egg white on top was fluffy and light. I also had the tiger shrimp, it was grilled perfectly and had anastonishing crunch. The spice amount was on point. I also had the Chile Lime and everything fine drink, it was fairly spicy inthe beginning but after the first sip it was easy to drink. Also well balanced. The vegetable dumplings had a kick of flavor, and a good texture. My friends had the pork ramen and said it was the best they had had in a while. The decoration behind us wassuper cute, great way to spend my night!
