I ordered a sin... read more I had dinner at Burger Fi in Gainesville, FL on Friday, December 15, 2023. I carefully studied the menu on the TV monitors and noted the prices. I ordered a single burger, fries, and a drink, and was surprised when I saw the total charge on my credit card receipt. I was charged an extra $1.98 in total, including a .98 Service Charge and a $1 overcharge on the combo meal compared to the posted price. When I inquired about these charges, I was shown a small typed message on the side of the cash register explaining the extra costs due to the food being more expensive. I was also informed that the combo price displayed on the video monitor was incorrect. It seemed like the restaurant had deceptively increased prices by 15%. While the food was decent, the portion sizes were smaller compared to my last visit about a year ago. I plan to report this experience to the State of Florida, the local restaurant, and the corporate headquarters.

I have been to Hopdoddy Burger Bar (literally 0.2 miles away), Dick Mondell’s, Goldie’s, and Relish in Gainesville, so I figured that BurgerFi wouldn’t be too different. I was right about the options, ordering, and restaurant size, but the difference was the price: I ordered the BurgerFi junior burger with no cheese, bacon, or any extras, plus fries and a cup for water. That totaled nearly $15. The burger, when it came out, was tiny, like four large bites and it’s gone type of tiny. The fries were good but for the price, the meal was definitely not worth it. I could go to McDonald’s and get at least 4 McDoubles (the burger would be larger than what I got at BurgerFi) for the same price. I’m glad I gave BurgerFi a try but I don’t foresee myself going back.

Initially, we were told they were out of sweet tea, as the dispenser had been broken for a while. My burger arrived missing tomato, which they fixed, but the pickle was larger than the lettuce. The condiments were also oversized, making my fingers sticky and preventing me from tasting the beef. Additionally, we were charged for a water cup. It will be some time before I consider returning to this restaurant.

The minute I walked in Jeanette was on top of her game, saying hello and making me feel welcomed. Not gonna lie, everyone was on top of their game thatday and it was very refreshing to be in that atmosphere. Definitely 10/10 would recommend.

They also put Swiss when I clearly said cheddar, not a huge deal. Cashier Kyle is a good representative, kind andprofessional. Not a bad place at all!
