Feedback
Petrillo's received mixed reviews, with some customers enjoying their meals and others being disappointed. The restaurant was noted to be hidden behind the outlets and was busy during peak times. Some patrons praised the pasta and local draft beer, while others were let down by the quality of the food. There were also complaints about the noise level and slow service. Overall, experiences varied from excellent to disappointing, with some diners vowing to return while others were unsure if they would come back.
Every holiday season, our family travels to Freeport to shop and enjoy a meal together. After reading Yelp reviews, we decided to make a reservation for lunch. When we arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty, possibly due to the rainy weather. The waitstaff was friendly and seated us promptly. We placed our drink and appetizer orders, then gave our main orders. It seemed like the waitstaff was short-staffed as they were also covering the bar. Our drinks arrived without glasses for our beers, and the appetizers were not up to par. The bruschetta and spinach dip were barely toasted. Our meals were served with surprisingly small portions, and the overall flavor was bland. One of our guests had to add salt to her risotto, accidentally spilling salt all over her plate. When the waitstaff checked on us, we explained the issue but declined a replacement plate. Only half of the dish was taken off the bill, which left us feeling unsatisfied. Despite spending over $200, we left hungry and disappointed. While we understand the challenges of managing staffing levels during slow periods, we do not feel that we received a quality dining experience.
I made a reservation for a large group (10 people) for lunch after a family event. The waitress was great, she took care of all of us, including two kids. The menu had a nice variety for adults and kids and everything tasted great. We were able to bring a special cake with us to serve after lunch. I would definitely recommend Petrillo's and will be back again myself!
We came for a family get-together. Everything was fantastic. Drinks made to order, local draft beer and what I assume is homemade lemoncello. The group had mostly pasta dishes which arrived quickly and the pasta was al dente and not mushy. All in all a great experience.
What an amazing discovery. As we walked our dogs in the neighborhood, we walked by this adorable restaurant. As we were trying to decide who was going inside the restaurant, this engaging and welcoming, young woman step outside to see if we wantedanything. I told her we were just trying to decide who was going in to get a menu. I followed her inside and got the menu. Weordered and continued on our walk. When we picked up the food, the aroma gave us a hint...This is going to be an awesomedinner. The Lasagna and Garlic bread were better than we had in Rome...Seriously!! Thank you, Donia for your positiveenergy, that enabled us to enjoy a great meal. Have a safe summer. We will return!! Sent from my T-Mobile 5G Device
It’s a fair restaurant but not above and beyond. They claimed to have gluten free pizza but in reality I was told that it is cooked on the same surface as regular pizza, so there is a big risk of contamination. Our waiter was a little bit rudesuggesting that the gluten “burns off” when in the oven which is concerning considering that some people including me canhave a big problem if they eat even a crumb of gluten. I went with the Vegetable Risotto which was fine. The squash was overcooked and burned but besides that, it was a decent dish. My brother ordered a pepperoni pizza was burned and filled withgrease. The service was slow and below average. The waiter also forgot to give us any silverware even after our food was served.I think the issue may have been that they were short staffed. The picture of the pepperoni pizza in my review is the replacementpizza we ordered and was luckily less burned than the first one which was charred on the top.
