Homemade hash was the star, coffee was also surprisingly good. Why go anywhere else?

We were cheerfully seated without a word, an... read more We walked in here at about 15 minutes of 2 pm and expected to be told they would not serve us, as they closed at 2. We were cheerfully seated without a word, and given menus. I asked about decaf coffee, and, unbeknownst to me, the waitress brewed awhole pot for me, right at closing time... I did feel kinda bad about this, but thought it was very nice. The Freeport Cafeserves breakfast and lunch only, lunch consisting mostly of sandwich types. We got two sandwiches, a club and a Reubens. Theywere pretty good, nothing spectacular, served on regular sandwich bread, with a side, coleslaw, and baked beans. Service waswonderful, waitress very friendly and food was hot, fresh and fast.

He is definitely a asset to the restaurant because he has a wonderful personality and so nice and helpful. We will definitely be going there again. The food was great also, but Sam made it a great experience for my wife and I.
