Located on the beautiful Carroll Creek, the outdoor seating offers an idyllic view, shade, nature, music (there happened to be harpist set up on the day I was there) and the entertaining strolling of people of all ages. The service and food were terrific. A delicious stop on a beautiful day who could ask for anything more? Special thanks to the manager, Kat, who went out of her way to help resolve a self created problem. I am forever grateful.

The steaks were overcooked and the short rib... read more Took my family to this restaurant tonight. The appetizers were fantastic, but the main courses were disappointing. The steaks were overcooked and the short rib was the worst I've ever had. I strongly believe it was cooked sous vide instead of being oven roasted for 12 hours. We will not be returning.

But today's experience was not particularly pleasurable.... read more We've been to the Wine kitchen about a dozen times over the years. We've always enjoyed the experience. But today's experience was not particularly pleasurable. We sat outside next to the canal and that, by far, was the best part of our lunch. I ordered the cold pepper soup which was good, but hardly memorable. My wife ordered the fava-bean humus, which was somewhat tasteless and dull. I got the beet salad as a main and it was not particularly good at all; the cocoa powder base seemed out of sync with the rest of the salad, where the beets were few and far between. My wife ordered the mushroom taco which she didn't like at all, an opinion seconded by me. The menu itself is far different from the Wine Kitchen in Leesburg, which remains a delightful gem. The quality of preparation there is outstanding.

The service i... read more Once you find the entrance on the canal, everything is wonderful. This is certainly the best wine list with a steak house restaurant in Frederick. The service is also exceptional. In addition to the delicious foods, one of our party needed ibuprofen,which the restaurant also had. Looking forward to returning the next time in Frederick.

Quite honestly I... read more Good food and the atmosphere and space is comforting and inviting. Outdoor seating is available too, so you can enjoy the creek while you eat. Quite honestly I think the biscuits were my favorite. The Octopus Salad was a lot smaller than I thought it wouldbe, and the Hudson Valley Duck Breast was good but not filling. It was good like I said, but I think for the price I’d rathergo elsewhere in Frederick (or somewhere else twice to be honest).
