What User doesn't like about Peking:
On Sunday, June 26th, 2022, we dined at Peking in Fordingbridge. The food was terrible. It tasted like cigarette ash and I suspect it was cooked in dirty oil. The curry sauce was too thick and unpleasant. The grilled toast was burnt and the chips were soggy and small. I would advise against eating at this place. View all feedback.

We ordered takeout for four people from this restaurant on a Saturday and only had to wait 40 minutes, which was not bad considering it was a busy night. The restaurant itself appeared very old-fashioned and boring, with a messy bar and obligatory fish tank. The food was hit or miss - we were disappointed to not receive free prawn crackers with our £60+ order. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like congealed vinegar jelly and lacked flavor, while the curry sauce was overly thick and spicy. The chilli beef was dry and lacked the usual sweet and spicy sauce, so I would recommend avoiding that dish. The chicken balls were good, but the sauce was not. The lemon chicken and kung pao chicken were tasty. However, the chow mein and special fried rice were soaked in oil, with leftover oil in the dishes after serving. The spring rolls and prawn toast were crispy and tasty, while the spare ribs had lots of flavor. Overall, with so many disappointing dishes, I don't think I would order from here again. I couldn't reach our usual Chinese restaurant, but I will try somewhere else next time as the food was either too dry or oily.

I was at Sandy Balls campsite with my family and decided to try the Chinese restaurant, Pekinger, for a farewell meal. I opted for the prawn curry, but was disappointed to find that the boiled rice was mushy. Despite finishing my meal, I felt unwell that night and woke up at 4 a.m. with severe stomach cramps. Over the next 24 hours, I experienced intense nausea and diarrhea. I came close to calling for medical assistance and now understand the severity of food poisoning. I urge others to avoid eating at this Chinese restaurant.
This is the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. Avoid it at all costs. I wouldn't even give this food to my dog. All four of my children got sick with stomachaches and were bedridden the next day. Everything seems to be cooked in grease and we even found hair in the Chicken Fried Rice. There were no other restaurants open, but I would have preferred to go hungry than feed this to my kids. The prawn toast was undercooked and watery, and the chicken balls were all batter with no chicken inside. This is truly the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever encountered. The service was takeout only.
