I love this place because I could find Machiavelli and Dante both in one place and both in English. Imagine buying these Tuscan writers in Tuscany. They have many more English language books too, and Italian of course. And in a crowded city like this with no place to relax and unwind they have that. You can sit and read. It's too crowded in the rest of Florence to really find a place where you can do that.
Todo Modo is a great local cafe/bookstore for studying, having drinks with friends, and having a relaxing time reading! The ambiance inside is great and you are surrounded by books and plants. Their music selection is very good and it adds to the great atmosphere inside. The coffee they serve was great, however they did not have many food options. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, this cafe/bookstore was a great experience and a must if you are in Florence!

I ordered a snack of anchovies off the menu here which was 3 euro, my friend ordered a 9 euro meal. We were charged 20 euro, they charged us 3 euro for the bread [which we didn't order] and my meal became 8 euro the waiter making some excuse for really good anchovies and after lunch time!
This is a little oasis. On a hot day we dropped in for iced coffee and cake. Sitting among the books in this bookshop is a relaxing experience. Staff very friendly.
