Il faut savoir que les routes sont pleines de nids de poule et que parfois c'est surprenant, mais le paysage est féérique. Il faut prendre le temps de visiter Terre-Neuve, c'est un endroit pour les amoureux de la nature.

The Eastern Coastal Trail follows roughly the same route... read more We spent a week exploring the Irish Loop. It is a beautiful coastal drive around the Avalon Peninsula. The Eastern Coastal Trail follows roughly the same route and we hiked it in a few different locations....great views and wonderful cliff tops to sit and watch the whales frolicking. The Loop is chock full of quaint fishing villages each with their own charm. The only drawback is the very rough (in areas) road - lots of potholes on the main road so just be aware and ENJOY!!

The driver best keep eyes on the road when viewing the scenery along the way. Interesting villages one after another. We did get a treat and saw an iceberg at the southern tip. Take your time and enjoy the ride...don't go if you're pressed for time as the road conditions and speed will drive you crazy.

However, the area is quite populated, so it can be challenging to find parking. Be sure to stop whenever you can to fully enjoy the experience.

Asked the people at Gatherall's puffin and whale tour in Bay Bulls, where we should go for lunch in Ferryland and recommended this restaurant they called Kavana... read more Asked the people at Gatherall's puffin and whale tour in Bay Bulls, where we should go for lunch in Ferryland and recommended this restaurant they called Kavanagh. Our bill called it the Irish Loop Restaurant. It is a restaurant on the Irish loop drive therefore the confusion in some of the previous reviews that seem to check the ride and not the restaurant. Restaurant is Diner style. The food was okay. The view was great. Seafood Chowder was good. Others in the group also explained their food to be good. No lawn; just good. Feel the icebergs in the bay we could see from the window.
