The... read more We were on vacation and decided to eat at Salado for a nice dinner. All 8 of us were disappointed. A few (of the already limited) entrees were unavailable. The soup of the day was good, but otherwise no one was too pleased with their dinner. I had a salad and was disappointed. It was incredibly small, few toppings, and the dressing tasted off. The mixed drink someone at our table ordered was basically undrinkable. if you are in Fairplay, I'd recommend trying other local restaurants.

We made a reservation, which the table wasn't prepared for us until 15 minutes after the reservation time. When we went, they were out of the pene noodles and short ribs. I believe that is 2 out of maybe 8 or so entrees available. They have very few options on their menu so to be out of two of them was really disappointing. Also were out of the draft beer I ordered. Our entire party ended up settling for appetizers and salads, which were average at best for the cost. The soup we had I will say was pretty good. One alcoholic drink our party ordered was possibly the strongest margarita produced in a restaurant, which I guess is better than the other way but it was pure alcohol. It seems from other reviews we may have caught them on a bad day, but we definitely won't be back for the rest of our stay in Fairplay.

It?s definitely a farm to table type place. All the food is wonderful. I got the trout and my wife got the short rib. We had the cheese curd appetizer. Service was great and we loved the atmosphere. I would recommend a reservation.
