Was Augustin Launay at Château Eza, Slh a mag?
A spectacular setting on the cliffside of Éze. Excellent food and an exhaustive wine list. The service felt a bit rushed given the beauty of the setting which would allow for endless lingering. Prices are high but forgivable given the setting and the quality of...the food. View all feedback.

I have been to Chateau Eza twice in the last 2 weeks and plan to go again next week. It was one of the best meals I have had in the French Riviera in the past 10 years. The food was delicious and the attention corn the staff was even better. Everyone was wonderful to deal with and we're friendly, cheerful and helpful. Go for the prix fixed lunch - it is wonderful. The carrot sorbet is delicious, the duck breast is perfect and all 3 desserts are sublime - I am a chocolate fanatic, so the Black Chocolate was excellent.

As you probably know, Chateau Eza is perched on top of a hill, with breathtaking views. It worth going for the view alone. What delighted us though was that it also has top class food and service. First of all, the reception.... when we walked in (family of four), they asked our name and immediately knew about our reservation. We were asked if we would like to start with drinks on the terrace, which we did. The drinks were served promptly, competently and with a small plate of nibbles to keep us going. When we were ready we simply got up and walked into the restaurant where the staff knew our reservation and guided us to an excellent table. Menus arrived with a smile and the excellent waiter was fully knowledgeable about all the dishes. He heard us discussing fish dishes with our daughter, who was questioning if any of the fish dishes were raw as she currently does not eat raw fish. I mention this because later, when the amuse bouches were served, the waiter had overheard our daughter's concern and taken the initiative to get her a vegetarian amuse bouche while we got a type of ceviche. The food was overall very good. The highlight is the deserts. Make sure you leave room for them. We ordered four different deserts and all were truly sublime. In terms of what could be better, the food service was a bit slow. This does not really matter in such a beautiful location, however the mains were only lukewarm when they arrived, which means they were waiting somewhere, getting cold. All in all, an excellent dinner. When in the Côte d'Azur, you would be well advised to visit this classic

Outstanding service and amazing tastes.. 6 meals over 3 nights. All were impeccable. Some private dining for a special occasion. Of course, views should be outstanding as reward to get here.

This place is of NOT worth it. When we first visited Eze, my wife and thought how beautiful the area was and its views. We told ourselves how we would like spend our anniversary at the Chateau Eze. If you want to enjoy the views...at Eze, visit and have a nice dinner by the beach at Villefranche or Bealieau Sur Mer. You will SAVE money. We learned our lesson by paying over per night for the view. When we made reservations with the hotel, we were given the option to pay for breakfast daily and paid for it. When we told the restaurant that the breakfast was included, we were told that breakfast is not included. I told them about our reservation and was told that they did not know what we were talking about and suddenly the language barrier was an issue. Breakfast at this place is Euro per person for a continental breakfast. If you want to add an American breakfast (eggs and bacon only) its an additional Euro. That's folks. The service what your paying for here is terrible. This should be a top notch hotel, but the employees are rude and dont know customer service. When we arrived we requested reservations for the hotel, and were told that the restaurant had no openings. This is a small hotel with less than rooms and could not accommodate us. We are staying in this hotel and they prefer to accommodate someone who is not staying in the hotel. The location is beautiful and the views are unlike any other in the Cote d Azure. But save your money and go visit for the view of Eze on a day trip. If you buy in for the hotel, you could make an expensive mistake like we did. Lastly, if you stay here be prepared to walk a long way to the hotel. When you first visit Eze, it doesnt seem like a big deal because youve never been there before, but when you stay there for days, that walk up the hill will take its toll. It is not a convenient place to stay. The only attraction is the view. If you want to visit the small, quaint seaside towns in Cote d Azure you will have to drive a long way down the mountain. Don't make the mistake we made, stay near the coast and visit for the day, and save. I hope you read the low ratings for this hotel. YOU will save money.
