Feedback
Amani restaurant had mixed reviews from customers regarding their takeaway service. Some complained of rude and unhelpful staff during phone calls, while others received cold and hair-contaminated food. However, the restaurant's dine-in experience received positive feedback, with customers praising the delicious and flavorful food, as well as the efficient and friendly service. The recent refurbishment and reopening of the restaurant was also well-received, with diners enjoying the new decor and ambience. Despite some issues with takeaways, Amani seems to be a popular choice for Indian cuisine lovers looking for a dine-in experience.
I can not fault Amani, the staff go above and beyond! Their service is fantastic, the restaurant is spotless, and the food is sensational!
High quality food in a really nice setting. Place looks like it has recently been fully renovated and the smaller details have been considered. From the food, presentation and even the plates have been thought of to a detailed level. Waiters and owner are nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend
Lunch for five adults was relaxed, unhurried, tasty across five different dishes of very high standard. Service was excellent: nothing was too much trouble. This restaurant is highly recommended.
Absolute gem of a restaurant. This is not just old fashioned Indian food catering to western palettes. I've tried pretty much every dish on the menu at some point. The chef is talented and the staff were super polite but not over the top. The best Indian restaurant in Surrey.
I booked in for a Bollywood night. There was 4 of us, 2 people are meat eaters and 2 people are vegans. When I booked online as suggested by a member of staff when I called, as if they couldn 't do it over the phone (all the bookings where hand written on a piece of paper when we got there, oh and the only thing that was noted is that i paid £20 deposit but not the fact that our table required vegan based menu) in the notes section online I specifically said we will require a vegan menu. When we were seated at the table the waiter didn 't give us a drinks menu or a set food menu for us to look at. When they served food I questioned about which one was a vegan option, the staff looked very confused they didn 't know what I was talking about. Asked to speak to a manager, the waiter didn 't even bother getting the manager so I had get up to find someone only to discover that the manager was not available as he was in the kitchen busy, im sure that he was completely unaware that there is a table that required a vegan option menu. A lovely female member of staff came out from the kitchen assuring me that there is vegan based menu, trust me there wasn 't. The starter was ok, but to have 2 potato dishes, cauliflower and lentils as a main with £40 ahead and no desert, for a restaurant its pretty appalling. The menu for meat eaters was ok, really not worth £40 ahead. Now we get to the service... poor doesn 't even describe it. Chef came across as having an attitude every time he attended the table. It did not feel very welcoming or accommodating towards our needs, and it came across as a bother. After the mains We were not even asked about deserts, I had to get up and ask if there is any deserts to come, 2 of us had a desert, which was ok, too frozen couldn 't even use a spoon but for vegan option all we got As a desert is coffee black, couldn 't even have milk as had no other milks available.£80 for a standard of vegan options we had was absolutely outrageous. Most waiters didn 't really understand if you asked them a simple question, all we got is I go and get someone but that someone never came. I never write reviews because opinions do vary, but after this meal I was extremely disappointed with the restaurant atmosphere, attitude and just simply not valuing their customer. There was only one lady that worked there behind the bar that actually was helpful and pleasant.
