I hadn't been to an IHOP for 50+ years and it was a first visit for my husband. We decided to try it out because our grandson works there. The service was great. I loved that each table had it's own carafe of coffee. No waiting for refills! We both ordered the pancake combo with the double blueberry pancakes. The food was yummy! We will be back.
No idea how it was. Stopped on a Thursday morning at 945am. Waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged. Another 5 before leaving. No fault of the waitress/server. As usual, another establishment that cannot staff properly because no one wants to work. 2 girls, a bus boy and 1 cook doesn't cut it at a busy interchange.
Maybe ten customers in the store with multiple open tables. They gave us a large wait time. Good way to run a business. Went down the road to another place that has no issues providing great service and good food. I do not recommend Effingham IHOP.

My husband I frequent this IHOP and the last time we went we were blown away at the quality of service and food we received. It was a super busy Sunday church rush and we were seated within 5 minutes. Our server was TOP notch! Mary was her name, fromArkansas. She had a super contagious positive vibe and we never needed to call her over because she went above and beyond thewhole time. I wish I could have poached her to work with us at RISE ???? she's what every business needs! The food was way aboveexpectations. My omelette was perfectly made and tasted so so so good! Hash browns were buttery and super tasty. The Tres Lechespancakes are delish but was a tad too sweet for me, it was a good dessert to split after breakfast. I pray and hope to see Maryapply at Rise, but if not, I hope to have her as my server every time we come from now on! Thank you Mary and IHOP for yourbadass work and dedication!
