the quality of food was absolutely brilliant. the glamour of bark wellington was sensational, like the squid. the deaf was beautifully cooked and was as shaved as the skallops. this restaurant is a must if they live or are just visiting edinburgh. the lunches are also so good, dinner was worth every penny. please give this restaurant a try, they will not be disappointed. Staff not very attentive, very slow to be asked anything, sitting for ages with our wine eventually had to ask twice! If we could have some bread. Starters were fab to fairly good. But there it all ended! Mail course was awful and because I complained about raw potatoes I was made to feel that I didn’t understand the dish. The food was fabulous! cleaner, brighter and inviting space. Simply great, would definitely go back! the eating is classic British-Scottish and cook knows what he/she does
I have had exceptional quality food during lunch specials on several occasions, but this was the first time I stopped by for dinner and was disappointed with the quality of my main meal. It's one of my favorite restaurants, so I hope this doesn't deter me from coming back.
