It was 2 hours 20 minutes late. Just worse delivery service I have ever had. Unsubscribing and deleting your app, will never use again.
Very poor experience from a local restaurant which online ratings led us to believe would be good. A couple of weeks ago, after work, my partner and I decided to give a new Bengali/Indian restaurant a try during the middle of the week. We booked in advance to confirm use of a common offer available on Tastecard. Between two, we ordering a drink, a side, a large curry and two naans but the staff insisted we must order more to use it. They were rude and made us feel uncomfortable in an empty restaurant. We considered staying but didn’t want to order too much food so paid for a drink and left without ever trying it. Although living close by, we will not be returning to this restaurant. There are so many great places to eat only a short walk up Dalry Road or towards Lothian Road. There is no reason to treat anyone how they did us. I wonder whether this was because they expect customers to order alcohol and non-veg food for a few extra pennies?! A shame not to have tried out this local restaurant but we would have felt worse if we stayed.
We chanced upon this restaurant on an unplanned evening, being an Indian as well as Bengali myself I was quite excited about the prospective dinner. Staff was extremely friendly and welcomed us with a smile, got us a table even though it was a busy Friday night. We orderd chciken dhansak, egg fried rice and aloo bhaji. Here’s my take on the food. The masala in the curries were undercooked and heavily tomato based (uncooked tomato which is far from how Indian or Bengali curries are in general. The authentic dhansak curry is extremely aromatic with a variety of masala along with different kinds of lentils, and when fully cooked the lentils and the vegetables are completely mixed, none of which happened here. Similarly with aloo bhaiji, first of all Aloo Bhaja in Bengali means fried potato(either slices or small sizes , secondly even if this Aloo Sabji, the size of the potato (too large! and the uncooked tomato (again too large pieces! just threw me off completely. The chef should look into the cooking as this is far from authentic curries (to the other people who mentioned they have had a LOT OF CURRIES and this is the best curry guess they never had a good Indian or Bengali curry . I want to reiterate in the fact that the staff was extremely courteous, welcoming and friendly, so 5 stars to the service. To the management and chef,I hope you do better with the food and ensure you are serving people authentic food since you are representing two extremely rich cusines , all Bangladeshi people I know happen to be amazing cooks, I am sure you can do better. All the best!
A late night dinner at this restaurant that we had visited some years previously Despite the time we were accommodated As ever food was good, service very friendly and we left stuffed and happy
Flamme, a Bengali cuisine restaurant located in Edinburgh, has been attracting both locals and foreigners alike with its flavorful dishes and excellent service. The menu offers a great variety of options, including delicious mixed kebabs, lamb dishes, and vegetarian options that have left patrons impressed. After attending a rugby game at Murrayfield, we had dinner with friends at a restaurant near Haymarket station. Despite being very busy, we were promptly seated and enjoyed delicious food. The menu had a great selection, including plenty of options for vegetarians. We started with mixed appetizers and then had main courses with rice and naan bread. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The only downside was that the restaurant felt a bit cramped with limited space between tables, so those with mobility issues should contact them in advance for assistance. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this restaurant to others.
Definitly the best curry in Edinburgh.. Good service and fab naan bread..my only negative is the price of the beer
Potentially the finest curry I’ve ever eaten. and I’ve eaten A LOT of curry. Tender meat that fell apart, lovely and spicy too. So often restaurants try and cater for a British palate; not here, it was simply superb. Lovely service too. Very friendly. I dined alone and was treated with kindness and courtesy all evening. Will definitely return next time I am in Edinburgh. Photos are: mixed meat kebab, followed by lamb korahi, keema rice and saag paneer.

Great ambiance, great food and service. The menu is extensive and being four of us we were able to experience eight different dishes, all of them excellent. Very reasonable prices.
Food was excellent and flavoursome. The spicy fried aubergine was a particular hit. Service was also quick and efficient. 10/10
Although we hadn't visited this restaurant in a while (since they no longer serve lunch), we were warmly greeted by Imran and his team. The table was immaculately set, the service was professional and friendly, and the food was delicious as always. The Jahlfrieze king prawns were cooked perfectly, and my partner's chicken khani was also excellent. The nan bread was unique, and the pilau rice was tasty, but the portion size was a bit small. The lunch deals offered exceptional value, but we did find the dinner prices to be a bit high. However, you do get what you pay for!
Prawn puree was amazing to start with, Chicken Jalfrezi was also delicious. Lovely welcoming staff and very friendly vibes. Special Fried Rice and Garlic Nan completed the evening meal. Would highly recommend in the Haymarket area and definitely will be back.

I'm really puzzled by the only other review of Ignite as I have been here on many occasions and I think it's the best Indian restaurant I've been to. The atmosphere is more upmarket than your usual curryhouse, the staff are very friendly, the food is fabulous (I particularly love the chilli naan and wish more places would make it). I would recommend Ignite to everyone!
Service was NOT good. My friends and I were in reasonably good spirits after 2 pints each in the Haymarket Bar but we were not loud, raucous or ill-mannered in the slightest. There was only one other table populated in all the time we were there and the noise from their conversations was on a par with ourselves. Despite this, the waiter assigned to us barely managed to lift his facial expression above a contemptuous scowl. Not a friendly or inviting dining experience at all. Quite the opposite. A large Cobra is £5. Main dishes were £12 upwards. Not extortionate IF the food service lives up to it. It doesn't quite deliver though and as a consequence, I wouldn't class it as value for money. Having said that the food was tasty. It should be noted that all 5 of us found our mains to be VERY salty. A tactic to encourage consumption of their beer? Chilli heat was lacking too. There's only one chilli hero in my party of diners, so I'm confident this is a fairly balanced opinion on this. I'd rather travel to Queensferry for an equally enjoyable meal with more hospitable surroundings and waiting staff at the Queen's Spice. In summary, I wouldn't actively discourage anyone from booking but I won't hurry back either. .
Having arrived at a nearby hotel late in the evening stumbled across this Indian restaurant. Ordered a takeaway which was cooked up fresh in a few minutes. Guys were very friendly and helpful, supplying me with some plastic cutlery and large bottle of diet Pepsi to go with my order. Having got back to the hotel I was delighted to say this food was excellent. Really fresh and tasty. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the city in particular the Haymarket area. Restaurant looks very nice also, with a great selection of dishes. Will return. Thanks guys.
The tastiest Indian curries I've tasted in Edinburgh. What I like about their cooking is that it is not heavy and oily like some other Indian meals I've tried.

My previous experience at Ignite was wonderful, so I decided to go back after a rugby match at Murrayfield. The staff greeted us warmly and were very attentive throughout our meal. The food was just as delicious as I remembered from before. Ignite offers a diverse menu with traditional Indian dishes as well as some unique specialties that are worth trying. The seating was comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxed. Ignite is definitely one of my favorite restaurants.
The restaurant was unexpectedly quiet during lunchtime, with only one other table occupied. The service was attentive, and the food was delicious.
