We had the best experience at the GF cafe today for lunch. Service was fautless and we were really taken care of. I have coeliac disease and it's rare to feel so looked after and to know everything is safe. Plus the food was perfect. I had a pesto chicken panini with mozzarella and it was delicious. My first panini in 3 years I think! My son, who isn't gluten free, had the chicken pesto pasta. His first time with pesto chicken and he loved it. I also took something takeaway for later one of the best cakes I have had since diagnosis! I think it was honey and walnut. We will definitely be back whenever we are in Edinburgh. A real treat! I had a hungry teenager with me on the train ride from Newcastle and there were no gluten-free or oat-free options available. After a quick Google search, we found this restaurant and went straight there from the station. It's a small place, but we arrived at 11:30 and were able to get a table for two. The server was extremely kind and explained all the menu options to us, going the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. Our food arrived quickly - a full breakfast and a sausage and egg sandwich, both of which were delicious. The restaurant quickly filled up with other gluten-free customers, making it a bit of a Mecca for those with coeliac disease. I would definitely recommend this place. Thanks to a full stomach, my teenager was happy and we had a wonderful day in Edinburgh.
