Forage & Chatter
4.7 / 5 (9744 reviews)

Description

Forage and Chatter, located in Edinburgh, has mixed reviews from customers. Some enjoyed the intriguing atmosphere, nice food presentation, and exceptional service, particularly highlighting the attentiveness of the waiter named Matthew. However, others found the food to be good but not exceptional for the price, with issues like slow service and limited menu options. A negative experience with paying by gift voucher also left a sour taste for one customer. Overall, while some diners praised the venue, staff, and food quality, others felt that it did not live up to expectations based on previous visits.

An unforgettable evening at one of the coziest restaurants in Edinburgh! With friends, we enjoyed not only the exquisite dishes but also the atmosphere, which perfectly combined style and comfort. Every dish was a true work of art: fresh ingredients, refined flavors, and flawless execution. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made our dinner truly special. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for not just great food but also unforgettable experiences! We will definitely be back! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

We dined at Forage and Chatter in 2017 and had an amazing experience with the food, it was one of the best meals we had ever had. We were excited for our second visit this year, but unfortunately, the quality has declined. The bread and butter, which was outstanding in 2017, was nothing special this time. The tomato starter consisted of just a few cherry tomatoes with balsamic vinegar, which was disappointing. There was only one vegetarian main course, compared to two in 2017, but it was still pretty good. The desserts were okay but not as good as they were in 2017. It seems like they need to return to their previous standards from a few years ago.

Upon arrival, we realized we hadn't actually made a reservation. However, Matthew warmly welcomed us and made us feel at ease despite the mistake. The service was exceptional and the food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be returning to this hidden gem near the heart of Edinburgh.
