In the vibrant tapestry of Bombay, where cultures converge and stories intertwine, there lies a café that echoes the spirit of camaraderie and community – Kyani Co. Founded by Zoroastrian immigrants, this Irani café serves not just food, but a sanctuary for all who enter its doors. Imagine walking through the bustling streets, the scents of spices and brewing chai wafting in the air, leading you to a place where the clatter of cups and soft chatter form an inviting harmony. At Kyani Co., every marble-topped table tells a story of connection. Students, families, and familiar faces come together, united by the common experience of daily life. It is here that the esteemed botanist and town planner Patrick Geddes found solace amidst the noise of the city. A man of great vision and a heart full of ideas, Geddes wandered through Bombay's streets, observing and absorbing the essence of the city and its people. He recognized that places like Kyani Co. are not merely cafés; they are vital threads in the fabric of society that bridge divides and foster understanding. As you savor our menu, inspired by the timeless flavors of Bombay, reflect on how this café symbolizes Geddes' dream: a space where all walks of life intersect, fostering conversation and collaboration. At Dishoom Edinburgh, we embrace his humanist ideals and celebrate the richness of community that he championed throughout his life. Join us in honoring the vision of Patrick Geddes, and become part of the story we continue to weave in our own unique way. Welcome to a place where every bite is a reminder of the power of togetherness, and every sip transports you to the heart of Bombay.

It is busy, it is delicious and always a beautiful experience! there is a beautiful selection of aromen with seasoned. we went to breakfast and enjoyed eating and the atmosphere. the bread with sausage, speck and icing were delicious. the only comment I have is that it is so busy and loud. otherwise, a great place to eat. make sure to book in advance.
Absolutely amazing. every dish was so tasteful I couldn't imagine being better. we had a large group of 8 and I would definitely recommend a reservation. the employees explained the menu for us and helped us to pick up dishes. the ruby huhn is so good and enough for a person. would recommend getting a page of garlauch naan
We visited here as planned meal for my birthday party on our last trip to edinburgh and it cannot be missed! the food was from this world and the service was the second one to none! our very friendly waiter took time to explain the menu and recommended for eating based on its favorite, which was very helpful! He also took the time to explain to me the gluten-free menu and was very thorough in his explanation. and because it was my birthday, he sang happy birthday to me and brought my dessert with a small knock! but I can't leave any criticism without mentioning the atmosphere, it was as I would imagine to step into a restaurant in the bombay would feel. they really get the full experience here and I recommend a visit!
Absolute great dining experience and was worth the wait. Get there either early or late to avoid the long wait line. If you do have to wait in line they are incredibly courteous and offer complimentary tea or juice. Highly recommend the black dal it is a 10/10 and the lamb samosa really simple dishes packed with a ton of flavor! Another cool highlight is for every meal you order they donate a meal for a meal! Super glad we went and great way to end our trip in Edinburgh! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £60–70 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We’ve been waiting to come to this renowned restaurant for years. There was a short wait today. The 30 minutes they told us ended up about 10. Everyone was charming, knowledgeable and excellent in every respect. I especially appreciated the allergen menu together with a confirmation from the back of the house that there were no allergen issues with our meal. An exceptional experience all around.
