Feedback
Diners praise Badger & Co for excellent food, attentive service and a lively atmosphere; desserts and cocktails shine, though whisky options aren’t as extensive as specialist bars.
Our experience here was incredibly disappointing and upsetting—especially since this was our final meal as tourists visiting the area. We really wanted to eat at this restaurant; when we first arrived and found no tables free, we even went out of our way to make a reservation and come back later, as we were so looking forward to dining here. Halfway through our meal, we realised we were at risk of missing our train. We spoke to a staff member in the politest, friendliest way possible, simply asking if we could pack our food to take away or if cancelling might be an option. We never once refused to pay—we only wanted to discuss a reasonable solution given our urgent situation. Instead of listening or showing any understanding, the staff member instantly turned hostile, rolled their eyes at us, and kept repeating “You have to pay” over and over. They then told us the dishes we ordered take 30 minutes to prepare—but they never mentioned this waiting time to us beforehand at all! They wouldn’t let us explain ourselves, were completely impatient, and treated us with shocking rudeness and disrespect. As visitors, this was meant to be a special last meal and a nice memory from our trip, but this awful treatment left a terrible impression. We couldn’t help feeling we were treated unfairly, and wondered if this was a form of discrimination. We chose your restaurant deliberately and came prepared, yet we were met with zero care, poor communication, and basic discourtesy. It is so disheartening when what should have been a lovely experience ends on such a bad note. We truly hope the team will improve their attitude, inform customers clearly about waiting times, and treat everyone with the respect they deserve.
The breakfast was really good, we had some fine food. Just a tip, add fresh juices/smoothies.
Food was really lovely. We were in the private dining room downstairs which was great for our group of 12, and the staff were really attentive and couldn't have done any more for us. The room had shuffle board and karaoke which was an added bonus.
I had the fish chips and it was lovely. The mashed peas were absolute perfection and the whole plate was well crafted. The waitress was very efficient and nice too. Great atmosphere.
What an experience! Definitely our favorite place to dine while visiting Scotland. I loved the design, the atmosphere and the commitment to the The Wind and the Willows theme and all the creativity that went into creating such an unique warm space. Delicious food and drinks, great service and atmosphere was perfection. Would love to come again!
