What Scumblebunny likes about Redcoat Cafe:
Wish we had found this first before we had lunch, as its our type of place, comfy, quiet, nice staff decor, lovely atmosphere views, Mum had tea cake, I had a speciality beer brewed from where we used to line in Lossimouth! Nicer than the other eaterie in the Castle, with disabled persons toilet downstairs more upstairs. View all feedback. What CanadianJane doesn't like about Redcoat Cafe:
The staff that clear plates here are very loud and constantly crash china and cutlery together. It is hard to be relaxed in here. The food portions are generous and sandwiches come with two side dishes. The millionaire shortbread is yummy for dessert. View all feedback.

read moreThe Red Coat Cafe, located within Edinburgh Castle, offers generous portions with two side dishes included with sandwiches. The millionaire shortbread is especially delicious. While the ordering process can be frustrating, the space is warm and comfortable with friendly staff. Prices may be overpriced, but the quality of food and scones make it worthwhile, especially for a break from touring the castle. The cafe is highly recommended for a snack or light meal after a day of exploring. The experience feels magical, providing a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere to unwind. Overall, despite some issues, the Red Coat Cafe is a fantastic spot to visit within the castle grounds.
