We used to go here fairly regularly. The food is generally quite good, though it was sometimes hit or miss, especially with sides. We haven't eaten there for a while, but decided we'd order carryout. It appears they've revamped their menu, and now everything is a la carte, so I'm unable to order a meal with a meat and sides as I used to. When we arrived at the checkout screen, we balked. We both agreed we weren't willing to pay that much. Rack Shack was worth it at one point, but for us that point has passed. We ended up ordering from another BBQ joint in Eagan further north that still has reasonably priced meals with sides.
The flavors of the food were epic. We got the half pound brisket, the chicken wings, buffalo chicken Mac, and the fries. We tried the top 3 hottest sauces. The savannah sauce was our favorite. The brisket was a bit on the dry end and so were the wings but the flavors were on point. The fries were seasoned well. The buffalo chicken Mac was alright. One thing to note is that the buffalo chicken Mac comes with bacon on top so if you don't eat that, make sure you ask them not to add it. We made that mistake but our server was awesome and she remade it immediately for us. Service was stellar from the serving staff.
Just went there for my first time got take out-and service was great! The food was great! Mac and cheese and fried green beans were a hit!! Will definitely be coming back!!
The hobo will blow your mind and fill your belly for sure!!
