Lovely location and gardens a bit neglected! Room however is not up to standard, no aircon, limited TV channels, no network connection for Netflix, no fridge in room, no Kettle. Carpets old. Shower mixer old, hard to control, couldn't get hot enough water. Any hotel is selling sleep, well not here due to heat, no A/C couldn't sleep, couldn't watch a movie, couldn't make a cup of tea. Asked for network connection but couldn't get it. Rooms: No Netflix, no A/C, intermittent wifi. Safety: Felt safe at all times Walkability: Very accessible, lovely walks in and around Food drinks: Average Noteworthy details: It's old expect loads of antiques, wooden floors, walls paper and long drapes. My grand parents would love to stay here.
I photographed Ciara Stephen's Castle Durrow wedding last weekend and I can't say enough nice things about it. The rooms are perfect for getting ready, the ceremony was a beautiful indoor event. The grounds are absolutely stunning, meaning there's no need to go anywhere for your formal wedding photographs. We were lucky to have an outdoor drinks reception but the rooms inside are perfect should the weather not be on your side. The staff were a dream to work with, nothing was a problem and everything ran smoothly. I can't wait to return to Castle Durrow to shoot more weddings.
I got married here in 2022 and everything was perfect. The hotel manager and staff were all incredibly professional to deal with. Gorgeous hotel with an excellent restaurant. We stayed in a Heritage Room which was very comfortable. The staff were all very attentive and welcoming. Highly recommended.
What a fantastic venue for any type of private and personal celebration. We had a fabulous 3 course meal for 2 today with drinks and coffee in wonderful surroundings. Served by very attentive and friendly staff. Atmosphere was lovely and easy going laid back ambience was a joy. No rushing around feeling obliged to finish courses quickly. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Top class restaurant and hotel. Food was exceptional and great value. Thank you
