Beautiful place. Food drinks: We were disappointed with menu. It was very usual fare, I had expected seasonal food, but it was really just fancy meat and 3 veg type. I have eaten food with more originality and verve in cafes. Breakfast was good, but dinner was just heavy and fancy plates. Rooms: 5 Service: 4
Stayed 1 night for friends wedding. Booked double room 3 months before wedding cost 150 euros. Hotel advised the money would be taken 2 weeks beforehand. I had no problem with this, checked if money had been taken instead of 150 they charge 175. Phone Durrow Castle to query no answer voice message our phones are unmanned please email reservations at. Durrow Castle . I did email still waiting on reply.
This review doesn't relate to the hotel but to an event I attended there on Sunday a centenary medal ceremony for Laois/Offaly Gardaí very poorly organised, probably the wrong kind of venue for such an event. Service: 1 Location: 2
Gorgeous hotel with an excellent restaurant. We stayed in a Heritage Room which was very comfortable. The staff were all very attentive and welcoming. Highly recommended.
What a fantastic venue for any type of private and personal celebration. We had a fabulous 3 course meal for 2 today with drinks and coffee in wonderful surroundings. Served by very attentive and friendly staff. Atmosphere was lovely and easy going laid back ambience was a joy. No rushing around feeling obliged to finish courses quickly. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Top class restaurant and hotel. Food was exceptional and great value. Thank you
