**Dining Experiences at a Broughty Ferry Gem**
At a recent visit to a Broughty Ferry restaurant, patrons experienced a range of service and culinary quality that varied significantly. While some diners raved about delightful dishes such as perfectly cooked seafood and beautifully presented meals, others faced disappointing service and overcooked steaks. Complaints centered around slow service, lack of availability of menu items, and unassuming ambiance that detracted from the dining experience. Despite mixed reviews on execution and atmosphere, many guests acknowledged the quality of the food when it met expectations, suggesting the restaurant's potential shines through, albeit inconsistently. Overall, it's a place where memorable meals can happen—but patience may be required.

The starter and main course were excellent. The dessert pastry was undercooked and the cream sour. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Scallops, Salt Baked Beetroot Salad View all feedback.
What Fiona Morris dislikes about Collinsons:
The restaurant was a great size but lacked a little atmosphere for me music or a vibe. The 2 things my husband wanted weren't available and with a small menu it's a shame as it Limited options. The food was good and nice wine list. I just felt we were rushed quite a bit while we were there and this is our own preference but to have some time between courses. View all feedback.

I dealt with Jarmila to organise a gift voucher for the restaurant and she went above and beyond with helping me organise and deliver the gift. I’ll not hesitate to go in when I’m next in Broughty Ferry especially after seeing Collinsons on the Michelin Recommended list ! Service: 1

Visiting 3 weeks ago and as always a great experience Different story today. If this is how the new owners are going to be running things, they may lose a lot of customers. Terrible service, food sent back twice and still returned cold and rushed out the door. Won't be rushing back Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £50–60 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £100+ Recommended dishes: Scallops, Coulant De Chocolate Fondant, White Chocolate Cheesecake
Take a step back in time to the 1980s. Honestly, I thought Nouvelle Cuisine was a thing of the past. Tiny portions of lacklustre food served to an average standard. I wish I took photos to illustrate, but at £42 for 2 courses, it was incredibly overpriced and underwhelming. I feel this establishment is directed at the retirees of Broughty Ferry who feel like they're getting quality food due to the elevated pricing. It's not. The wine is also marked up to a significant amount. Avoid. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £60–70 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

Lovely restaurant, great food and very attentive ,friendly but unobtrusive staff. Highly recommended for a special meal.
Loved the lunch menu which was very tasty and nicely presented. Good house wine also on offer. Very good service. Just took some time to find parking! We will go back loved it today as birthday lunch celebration.
Broughty Ferry is lucky to have a quality restaurant of this stature. It was busy on my visit with a good atmosphere. 2 of our company had trout which got the thumbs up. 2 of us had chicken which was perfectly cooked. Moist yet bland. White poached chicken on white mash. Under seasoned. Which I know is personal taste. Had to ask for condiments. Preferable to pub grub. It's good home cooking reasonably priced as is the wine list. Would certainly return.
Fabulous food, cooked by owner and chef Steve. Not cheap, but well worth it. House wine very reasonably priced.
