Java U Cafe - Dorval
Java U Cafe
Description
Tucked away at the busy Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport, this restaurant offers a pleasant seating area that contrasts with the crowds found at popular chains. Unfortunately, the dining experience falls short in several key areas. Customer service is reported as rude and dismissive, while food quality, particularly the sandwiches and pastries, has been described as stale and unappetizing. Coffee drinks lack finesse, often being overheated or poorly crafted. While some dishes are reasonably priced, the overall impression leans toward disappointment, leaving patrons to seek better options amid the limited choices in their travel environment.

The restaurant has a pleasant seating area and is not as crowded as Tim Hortons or Starbucks, which is a plus. However, that's where the positives end. The customer service was subpar; the cashier was rude and appeared impatient, responding to any questions with a condescending tone. The sandwiches, despite being labelled as heated, were still cold. Additionally, the prices were on the higher side, which is to be expected given the location.
Prices are actually reasonable! A muffin for $3.50 and deli pasta salad for about $7! Just what we needed. And super friendly staff. Crazy busy airport intersection tho!
Worst Smoked Salmon, cream cheese bagel ever. The bagel was as stale as can be. The cream cheese crumbly cause it was so dry and the salmon was garbage left over full of sinew that I couldn’t bite through. Absolute garbage!
Significant decline in quality. I'm not sure if this was just an isolated incident today or if it's a broader issue. We usually enjoy the lattes and hot white chocolate here, but both were disappointing this time. We hadn't visited for a while because it often seemed to be closed.
