It was a decent experience overall. The prices were a bit higher than I had anticipated, but the portion sizes were generous. The hash browns were just average; they tasted and looked like simply grilled, unseasoned shredded potatoes. The hollandaise sauce was different from what I'm accustomed to—it was quite thick, almost the consistency of peanut butter. While the flavor was acceptable, it had a taste reminiscent of a sauce made from a powder packet. I appreciated the availability of gluten-free options, but the gluten-free white bread had some unusual seeds that I didn't care for; it felt more like a multigrain or whole wheat rather than true white bread. Overall, nothing was truly bad, but it didn't wow me either.
Wow, this sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had! I ordered the Reuben, and the beef was perfectly sliced—full of flavor and juicy, with generous portions. The sauerkraut was excellent as well. I really appreciated that they stuck to the classic recipe, which felt refreshing nowadays. It was served hot and delicious on high-quality bread. The atmosphere struck a great balance between a diner and a café, giving you the best of both worlds. The service was also friendly and quick.
The food at Cornerstone Café was amazing, and the atmosphere was wonderful! The owner personally greeted every table, giving a warm and personal touch. The service was exceptional throughout our visit. I ordered the Skillet biscuit and gravy from their menu, and it was the best I've ever tasted. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Chicago! - Charles Rita Harkless, Spring, Texas.
The biscuits and gravy are my go-to breakfast whenever I visit this spot. They’re incredibly tasty, full of flavor, and very satisfying. The café itself is a warm, inviting space with friendly staff and good coffee. It’s a pleasant place for a breakfast outing.
During our visit to Chicago last week, we discovered a wonderful spot for brunch. The coffee was superb, and the food exceeded our expectations. I enjoyed the cinnamon swirl French toast with sausage patties, which came in generous portions. Others in our party ordered omelets and were equally delighted, particularly with the potatoes on the side. The service was remarkably fast, even with our large group. The café was clean and inviting. I highly recommend Cornerstone Café!
