While the food is generally praised, some diners found certain dishes lacking in seasoning and noted slow service. Was Jacquie Phillips at Clever Rabbit a mag?
I can't recommend this place highly enough! The ambiance has an amazing vibe, paying tribute to icons like David Bowie and Elvis. The music was spot on, featuring only the best vinyl records. The food was both unique and delicious, offering a great selection of vegetable-centric dishes, meat, and seafood, all complemented by an excellent wine list. View all feedback.
What Sara Swinehart dislikes about Clever Rabbit:
Overall, it was a nice experience! I felt like I might have missed out on some of the unique aspects of the restaurant by not having alcohol, but their non-alcoholic options were interesting and delicious. Just be sure to allocate enough time for your meal, as it can take a while for the dishes to be served. I came here with my partner and my grandparents. My grandparents are Chicagoans originally but recently moved to Alabama. They were in town visiting and instead of indulging in the usual spots to satisfy their craving for familiar food, we decided to come here for something different. My partner and I try to eat vegetarian as much as we can and we heard good things about Clever Rabbit from friends. We ordered some cocktails- carrot margaritas, a regular margarita, the watcher, an old fashioned. My grandpa ordered a regular margarita and said it was just okay but he really enjoyed the carrot one he ordered after tasting one of ours. We ordered the fried radishes, brussel sprouts, carrot dumplings, sweet potatoes, pig ear pasta, and tuna. We also got the carrot cake for dessert (the olive oil jam is pure genius). Everything we ate was delicious. Table favorites: the fried radishes, brussel sprouts, carrot dumplings, and pig ear pasta. The pig ear pasta was again quite delicious but we felt that for our table of 4, it could have been a slightly bigger portion by maybe 3-4 more pieces of pasta. I personally loved the tuna and it was sliced beautifully. The service was super friendly. Our server Hector was perfectly attentive but not too overbearing or pushy. We left feeling full and satisfied, but not overly stuffed, which was great. My grandpa loved it so much he took the food and cocktail menus home to try to replicate the recipes at home ha! I can't wait to come back and try the brunch menu. Thanks for a great evening!
The experience was truly enjoyable. It was fantastic for my vegetarian friend and for me, as a non-vegetarian. The prices were quite reasonable, and there was a wide variety of dishes, including plenty of sweet options and fish. I loved everything! The staff were all very friendly too!
I don't eat meat and there were more than the usual vegetarian and vegan options. Service was excellent. Really liked the carrot orange mimosas.

We have visited Clever Rabbit several times since its opening, and our most recent visit on Friday was the best meal we've ever had there. The Sunchoke Soup with scallops was outstanding, and the sauce on the Bucatini Pasta with house-made noodles was packed with flavor. Although I'm not usually a fan of mole, the Chicken with mole sauce was so good that I would order it again without hesitation. For something heartier, I highly recommend the Trout; it was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The staff and management were always available and eager to help. Honestly, everything was perfect!
