This restaurant is located very close to Drake University, but finding a parking space can be quite challenging. The seating area is spacious, and the staff members are extremely friendly. I ordered a falafel wrap, but they mistakenly served me a salad instead. That actually worked out fine for me—perhaps I should focus on eating healthier, haha! The salad was delicious. Ordered the falafel burger with a few starters we shared. It was pretty good. There's a decent number of vegan options. The customer service was great. I will definitely eat there again, but I'll bring a bigger appetite next time.
They are delicious and family owned. Really recommend this place!
Falafel Greek salad (vegan, GF) was sinful. Meat eater hubby had great options too. Hummus stole the show. New location, clean, cozy, excellent staff. A must visit!
It appears that this place used to be good. No longer. It is flat-out bad. It smells like dirty dish water and looks about the same. (Imagine a restaurant before Gordon Ramsey intervenes). Those pictures look nothing like the restaurant today. That cooler is empty and not plugged in, for instance. I was excited to try a place with vegan options, but alas, terrible, old, vegan food is not positive. Everything is served up on flimsy paper plates, to top off the bad. When my daughter and I went in, there were two very young women (think high school or college age), alone. They did not appear to know what they were doing. And while friendly (it's Iowa after all), they messed up our orders. We both got a falafel wrap. The falafel tasted like it was fried two days ago, and stored in a dryer. It was also inexplicably broken up. There were huge chunks of onions. The tomato and lettuce were not fresh. Basically, the whole thing was much worse than you can get from a food cart my Central Park. Also oddly, there was a super racist Elvis movie playing on the dining room wall from a projector. I really hope someone buys this restaurant and makes it good. Seems like they are keeping the doors open now because it is across the street from Drake an presumably college kids eat anything when they are drunk or hung over. Very close distance to Drake University. Kind of hard to find parking though. There is ample seating inside and the staff are very kind. I ordered a falafel wrap but they ended up making a salad by accident. Fine with me! Probably a sign I should be eating healthier lol. The salad was delicious. They even included a wrap and dessert because of their mistake. Will be returning for sure. Updated from previous review on 2018-06-07
